Don't the FA still have a very strict transfer embargo in place at Bournemouth.....?

Got to get this sorted in the next 48 hours before the loan expires. I'm terrified that Wright-Phillips will be sold in the next week and if that happens then Maclean probably won't be going anywhere until summer.

In a way I don't blame the player for keeping his options open by not deciding yet I think we will do well to secure his services to the end of the season.

That doesn't sound promising. Have you heard something we haven't?

Surely by now it's pretty obvious he won't be here past Saturday, isn't it?

other fish in the sea if not..... Yeh but will they be of the sme proven quality of Maclen? I don't think were be able to get someone with such quality hold up play, hope I'm wrong if he doesn't join.

I am not in favour of paying high wages for players just because they are on a good deal at their present club. Look at the mess Plymouth are in because of his and other players over-inflated wages. You have to live within a budget. However, I think he is a good player and trust our management not to break the budget.

Reading today's Oxford Mail article makes me think we have now freed up a bit of money to spend on wages, in order to increase our contribution to MacLean's wages.
So in a worst case scenario, if he doesn't stay you'd hope (if hypothetically we were prepared to pay them 2-3 grand a week) we could still bring in a striker of decent quality - especially as we're in a much more attractive league position than we were when MacLean arrived.
In an ideal world I would rather keep MacLean but if he goes elsewhere I trust Wilder to bring somebody in of decent quality to replace him.

Am I missing something with this? Why is everyone so downbeat?

Am I missing something with this? Why is everyone so downbeat? Because a player who has been instrumental in our upturn might be leaving.

Whatever happens the fans could make their feelings known throughtout the game by making Mr MacLean fully aware that his future belongs here with passionate supporters.

If he goes he goes. Has never bothered me when a guy thinks he can do better elsewhere. Good luck to him. Hope he regrets it

MacLean has been the catalyst for our improved results and form, in my (and many others) opinion, and it is absolutely imperative that we do all we can to keep him. If we've reached agreement on the extended loan, but it hasn't been signed yet, then it can only mean that he, or more likely his agent, is trying to secure a permanent deal either here or elsewhere. There's no way he'll get the kind of money that he's currently on from us or anyone else, so I would be cautiously optimistic that we may have some good news over this shortly.

I've heard he is on 7k at Plymouth and Oufc can / will only offer 2.5k 3k at a extreme push....
