Good news. He's added a touch of quality to our forward line. He might not have scored the goals but he is a big part of the reason we have won 5 out of 6.

Agreed - he is a class act at this level and I hope we can get him until at least the end of the season.
I think the group of players have come on immensely since Maclean came in and we look a decent outfit and we are playing with far more confidence.. If we don't bring him in then it will be disappointing.

Hopefully he will unwittingly double up as an on-the-job forwards coach, it would be great if he can teach our chaps a thing or two while he's here.

Will he actually see any of this extra money? He said in his interview on Radio Oxford at Christmas that he hadn't been paid by Plymouth.
Oxford's portion of his wage had to be paid directly to Plymouth and they weren't passing any of it on. The Plymouth players were waiting for help from the PFA (at the time).

You might be right as all the forwards are singing his praises. Does Southend have a finishing coach, Jack seems to have sharpened up in front of goal.

KT was on Rad Ox last night and said they have agreed a deal with Plymouth but are in negotiations with SM and his agent. That would point to an offer of a permanent deal. KT did say that SM has other options that he is considering.

Could this be a job for the 12th man fund or is that now being used for other things?

Don't think it's a done deal yet that we will have him on loan for the rest of the season. As KT said, if someone from a higher league comes in with a permanent deal, with the right money, then you wouldn't blame him for signing. So not quite done yet.

Nothing announced officially yet as Maclean is considering other options, as well as staying at Oxford till the end of the season

we are a much bigger club than bournemouth Their average attendance is less than 1000 below ours and they're second in League One with the most sought after young manager in the Football League. Chances are they can offer him at least slightly more money than Oxford as well. If I had to choose between the two as a player I'd be off to Dean Court in a second. Sad but true.

Dont they effectively become free agents once the PFA get involved? That would be a completely different (and messy) situation.
