To those who have a problem with the Man Utd/Arsenal debate - Here's how it works - If you're not interested don't read it. Simples! If you're only interested in reading about Oxford Utd, then the N + I forum isn't the place for you - Go to any of the first five sub-forums. If you want to discuss other teams in the N + I forum rather than Man Utd/Arsenal, try clicking the 'New Thread button' and start one off - You never know it might catch on. Here's a few ideas to start things off:- 1. Who will win La Liga 2. Will AFC Wimbledon earn promotion to the Football League 3. Will Luton crash and burn (Again) 4. Will the Scum join us in League 2 next season (by that I mean S***don) It ain't rocket science. Problem with that is that I can start a thread on pretty much anything, and have done in the past, and it gets hijacked by name calling, personal grudges, etc from that debate and these carry over quickly into a decending level of thread. They often somehow manage to work their way back to being about Arsenal or Man United. I've made no secret that as a lad my dad used to take me to watch Arsenal at Highbury when I grew up in London and I have a soft spot for them, and supported them before I even knew who Oxford were. However ultimately this is an Oxford forum. I became an Oxford fan in my teens and I wouldn't call myself an Arsenal fan at all now. It sort of defeats the object of supporting a team if you have another lined up in reserve I find it sad that people can't show a little bit of reserve about liking another club as I find it slightly demeaning towards OUFC for people to go on so fanatically about those two clubs on here. It's like turning up to a Stevenage game and seeing fans in the home end wearing Arsenal or Tottenham shirts. Has anyone ever asked you who you support? You say Oxford. They say, "But who are your proper club". Well they have a very valid point if they dip their head in here. It unravles our religion a little too much and comes across as a little grotesque. Everyone has soft spots for other clubs for one reason or another, be it Staines Town, Swansea City or Barcelona but I think there is a way to carry it, and to be swearing, bally-hooing, winding people up, gloating etc on here is not something I like to see. Most of all it makes people look pretty silly in my opinion given that - unless I'm completely clueless - we're talking about supposed adults.

The only reason your threads get hijacked is because you're such a pretentious t*sser. That is, of course, only my opinion to which I may or may not be entitled, and is only said in the interests of starting a debate, or a fight if you prefer. PS Apart from Paul Cannell, Danny C and Ratface Elliot, what other multis do you have? Are you Gavin?

I don't like it (anymore) for those reasons so that's why I choose to 'steer clear' of threads related to these - yeah I hsouldn't have had a moan about it however I would say that most of what I said has been repeated somewhere within this thread. I have no problem with baldy's posts and I am (hands up here) overly-critical of him on threads to see if one day he'll reply - he is very good at taking hits but seemingly won't give out anyone (me) any back. (Off on a tangent - Maybe I'm wrong but I see YH as a forum catalyst. He doesn't care how but creating, starting and inflaming debate seems to be his forte. Also Junior is slowly trying to embrace this 'role as well' I joined these forums in March and since then there has been a decline in some good posters (don't ask me to name them because I can't remember) Quick question - YellowHoods, are you Ricky Otto?

Some of you are missing my point. I am not criticising the views of Baldy or the way he portrays them. I am, however, guiding him to some other forums where his biased nature will be shared. Him, Moobs and Junior may as well have a private messaging conversation. If I were to start a debate as to the potential of say Federico Macheda, it will inevitably lead to a slanging match comparing him to Walcott or Wilshire whilst no doubt ending in a argument about whether Rooney is world class or shit. It is all just boring. It is not a case of "if you don't like it don't read it", except in the case of Wright For England, but a case of fixing it. I want to be able to come on here and read interesting comments, both neutral and biased, which do not descend into the boring infantile slanging matches. The vary nature of a message board is that you can post what you want within reason. It would be a step in the wrong direction to police the arena too heavily. I don't know what the success of the ashes thread in misc is, because that hasn't encouraged any off topic slanging matches. Maybe it is a problem peculiar to the N&I section? If an Aussie turned up on that thread you could guarantee some "off topic slanging". It's perhaps peculiar to football fans. It's the reason grounds have segregation sadly. Fans of different clubs can't be trusted to play together nicely!

My issue with baldy is not that he supports Manchester United - it's the fact he'll be really positive and bias about Manchester United, yet when he makes a rare post about Oxford United, he's negative and depressing.
Oxford United are certainly his second team.

Rare post? You sure? Have a look through his posts I'd say about 75% of his posts are made in this section.

Is 25% rare?

It's less than 75%, though. He certainly posts more about Manchester United than Oxford United, that's for sure.

Oxford United are certainly his second team. I disagree. Man United are top of the prem by how many points? Unless you're mad how can you be unhappy that you're second team is top of the prem? Especially when others on here have different opinions. On positivity wise - baldy has been rather positive about OUFC in comparison to some other posters on this forum have been. i.e The Wilder out we're going down with the Barnet lot. Can you find a negative and depressing OUFC related baldy quote please? As far as baldy goes I only have 2 quarms - he can be quite repititive - fine I don't have to read all of his posts. - I find he doesn't listen to other posts that well in a debate On the plus side he posts some real beauties when it comes to OUFC

Have you got any sort of life because you whinge like **** about this section yet respond to anything I post more rapidly than just about anyone else. I would say I post slightly more on N&I but will be a fairly heavy contributor to Oxford issues following games when we can post having witnessed something with our own eyes and be able to give a proper assessment rather than just guesswork.
