Whilst I sympathise that it is very easy to have a strong connection with another club in the prem as well as Oxford, I think you really do ruin this part of the forum. The benefit of having this section is to have a debate based on performances not on allegiances. Why don't you go to a Man U forum on a Premier League forum? That is a genuine suggestion, not a dig at your being a Man U fan.
The abuse you get is harsh, but your posts are just unbelievably boring and provoke the wrong debate.

You ruin the forum by constantly criticising others. What does this thread contribute to the general debate?

I seem to provoke plenty of response. I start loads of threads and although the resultant debate is often contentious I stand by what I write. You must be on another planet if you don't think the Arsenal contingent would be on here all night the minute Man U began to implode. I take great delight in shoving a few words back down peoples throats but I'm not daft enough to realise that one day I will be the recipient. When that day comes I wont go squealing around and start posting 'FAO' threads pleading for mercy. I dish it out and I'm big enough to take a hit on the chin in return Without wishing to sound big headed I think the N&I section would be more boring without my input. I don't disagree for the sake of it but these N&I sections would be bloody boring if we were all Arsenal fans or all Man U fans and just kept patting eachother on the back. I'd hate to be passionless and dull in my opinions but each to their own.

Why do so many criticise this section and those who post here. If you don't like it don't read it? And baldy, please continue to post here.

There are threads on the Misc section about VAT increases. I haven't posted on their because I have some paint to go and watch dry. Perhaps I ought to go on there and tell them to stop being boring. Or perhaps I could just ignore that topic?

This is the National and International section of an Oxford United forum. The debate varies from thread to thread. To say that this section should have debates based on performances would make it very dull.

I posted my first post before reading what junior and sihath had said but thanks for your support. There are a number of posters who are crucial to the liveliness of N&I and junior, sihath, boogaloo, Moobs, ks, LG, YY (where is he ? ;D) amongst others who I've no doubt missed, are key. Although I disagree with a lot of them I do recognise they possess a wide(ish) knowledge and have strong opinions.

The forum and in particular N&I has gone downhill because it's not debate it's just a slanging match, and it's all so little based on fact but instead club bias that there is simply no point debating. It's truly gone down the hill.
People need to learn humility, how to debate, how to recognise that there are two sides to every story, and instead of arguing crass baseness try to be more thoughtful and creative, and then the standard might improve. At the moment certain people, and Baldy is by far the worst but not he only, seem to delight in trying to win an argument rather than debate sensibly on fact.
Quite frankly you only have to look at how many decent posters have been scared off by the inane dribble on here to realise that.
I tend to post far less than I ever did in N&I because no matter what I post, I know it will be ruined as athread by somehow being screwed back to being an Arsenal v Man U debate. Depressing.

You'll have to tell us all how to debate then..... The forum is only as good as it's posters, and if some scared off, what was it that they didn't like? This is a genuine plea for you to offer something to stem the flow.

I disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.
Voltaire?
An open Forum should be just that.

So this isnt an Oxford United forum ?
Shift your eyes up about 20cms and read what it says under Yellows !
Apart from the fact that peeps openly supporting another team on here is a bit of a piss take any debate about the prem turns into a playground slagfest.

National and International. What do you suggest the topics in this section should be about? (Serious question). All things Oxford fit into Players, Matches, Management, Ground etc, this is for the non-OUFC football stuff and Misc is just that. There isn't a lot of Oxford debate in the Misc section, should all topics in there be about Oxford?

But then I could say instead of us debating the football last night it's now turned into people slagging off other people for what they post which has even less to do with Oxford or even football for that matter.

However unless there is a huge rise up the football league, Oxford won't be playing international football.
