Wasn't it nearly 10 years an opposition team scored a penalty at Old Trafford?

Mike FDean very generous so far.
Rafael could well have had a red. If Van der Vaart's tackles was a yellow then Giggs and Vidic should have one each- and why's Rooney allowed to shoot his mouth off all the time?

Keep it sensible ken, you know that wasnt a red. it was a sliding tackle and one foot never even left the ground and he just nicked a bit of the ball. I can see why yellow was given as it was a tackle at pace and could have been dangerous but the actual tackle itself, no way a red.

What happened to the second yellow for the demolition of Van der Vaart?

Only just got in and on the BBC live text it says: 1647: Rafael's turn to be fouled and it's a lunging tackle on him from Wilson Palacios - Rafael goes up to the referee and waves an imaginary yellow card, and Palacios is promptly booked.Surely not.....

I totally dispise it when players do that. What the text should have added though is that Rio Ferdinand appaers to give him a good telling off for doing it. Gone up in my estimation.

I dont have a problem with a player waving the imaginary card if its a clear booking and that was. Where I dont like it is if it doesnt really warrant a card but the player sways the referees thinking.

How honest was Rooney though, riding that challenge. If he goes over thats as clear a penalty as you will ever see. The attempted tackle was nowhere near the ball.
I feel sure that all those who couldnt wait to put up the challenge on Berbatov on youtube last week will be equally as rapid to show this great gesture of sportsmanship .

So being able to withstand a tackle/foul is a great gesture of sportsmanship now?

Rafael has been walking a tightrope all game. Hardly a surprise that one. You shouldn't be running across players like that and he made it easy for BEO to go down easily.

In charge at White Hart Lane . Man U unbeaten run could be in serious jeopardy with him in charge. If he's on one of his self promotion drives to get some headlines then he could **** it right up. It's right up his street to make a contentious decision that ends the unbeaten run. You can just see the headlines with that smug **** lapping it all up. I guarantee you at least one talking point with him. what did I tell you about that ****. he's a ******* joke and should be retired. Every big game he referees you can guarantee a major talking point. Give the big games to Webb or clattenburg. Dean just isn't professionally competent.
