Itv are a joke. Beglin on red card. It was harsh. harsh!!! ITV football coverage is w**k. Questionable commentary (mind you Andy Gray ain't all that!), questionable HD quality picture and no sodding surround sound! That we didn't even see the red card given to Gerrard sums it up!

The reason you two lose credibility on here is because you defend the indefensible. If that's Arsenal, you'd say it's cheating. Simply, because it was. Surveying the reactions of journalists on Twitter, not one has said penalty. That tells you something. Take off the tinted glasses boys. You're in danger of becoming a laughing stock. But there's contact. Yes he went down late, but he's still be caught.. As for the journos 2 have said gerrard shouldn't have walked!

It didn't. He took at least one step more (perfectly balanced) then threw himself. Dive.

Let's not talk about Gerrard, it was a red card and most people agree, all it's going to do is distract from this. He wasn't caught, he was touched. Just touched. Watch the game, see how many incidents you pick up like that that aren't given as fouls. I've made about 20 so far.

God more Berbatov threads. It's getting a bit dull now. We know United fans love him on here so I can only assume Non-United fans do as well and are plain and simply jealous because I don't think any other player, Oxford included, gets the forum air-time that he gets! There was contact, there was a dive, there was a pen. Get over it! It's the same up and down the land! Simon, I don't normally talk about Berbatov. I've entered into one discussion about him before. However, that was possibly the most blatant dive I have ever seen. He was touched on the shoulder, realised he'd been pushed, took another two steps by that point and THEN went down. Clearest dive you'll ever see, far worse than any other dives going on in the country. I wasn't aiming directly at you LLC, but when the pen was awarded about four seperate threads popped up all moaning about it. Them along with the endless other threads about him just get on my t*ts! ;-) He must be doing something right to have such a focus on him and stimulate so much debate. His dive was no worse than the other stream of dives we see all over the pitch all over the world.

Watch the replays at half time and then come back on here and tell us there was NO contact. He clearly sticks out a leg and trips Berbatov.

Delayed Dive from Berbatov? I'd say...
If Howard Webb had refereed the World cup final like this. There'd have been 17 penalties awarded and no-one on the pitch.

Don't you mean he clearly takes out a claw hammer from his back pocket and hits Berbatov on the skull so he falls to the ground uncoscious.

No one blaming the defender (agger) for a stupid challenge? The problem being it wasn't a challenge. My mistake, I didn't see the leg stuck in. But Berbatov didn't get touched by the leg from what I could see. And quite frankly there's absolutely no way the ref can be sure it's a penalty. You can't give it in that case.

No one blaming the defender (agger) for a stupid challenge? Yes let's all blame everyone else apart from the one who has cheated.

You have to apply common sense. Yes, it is a contact sport and that is why jostling and shoving is let go and corners and set pieces. It's a part of the game and is accepted. A player knows he has to stay on his feet if his cuff is tugged at a corner, you have to let hose go otherwise it becomes a non contact sport. BUT when the is clear contact with the ball at your feet in a one on one then that becomes a completely different case.

This is becoming embarrassing. The two Man U fans in denial, everyone else agreeing it wasn't a penalty. Yes, Agger shouldn't have given him an incentive to dive, but Berbatov took the opportunity.

It's only a penalty if the "touch" CAUSED him to fall. It didn't. He stepped on, then threw himself.
