For those that say no, I'd be interested to know the reason why. As surely taking all the standers out of the area in which they want to sit in peace would only benefit them too.

Thanks LJS. I've not only read this, I've also now joined the FSF. After reading some of the information there may be an opportunity for Oxford fans to negotiate with the club about providing areas where persisted standing can be permitted. It all seems a matter of changing the ground regulations. This is civil law not criminal law. "Nobody may stand in any seated area whilst play is in progress. Persistent standing in seated areas whilst play is in progress is strictly forbidden & may result in ejection from the ground." I've no idea how easy this could be achieved but we should get together as fans and really push for changing this. The long term aim should be to have an area of safe terracing introduced in the ground somewhere, be it in a 4th stand or an area of an existing stand. This is obviously more problematic but should be pursued nonetheless. I'll be in contact with the FSF in the near future to see what we can do to really push this forward at OUFC. If we could change the ground regulations to allow standing in eg the back 10 rows of the ground it would be a major coup. The way I see this is it will benefit the fans and the club equally, improve the good relationship we have with the club, improve the enjoyment of fans at games and the atmopshere in them. Let's see what we can do about this.....

It will never happen.......thats a no from me!
You have more chance of someone growing yellow grass for us to play on than have a standing area anywhere in the ground!
