I expect us to make Burton look like the away team.

Will we have the best away support?

In the whole league? I expect us to average a respectable 550 over the whole season..

Depending on our allocation, I would go for nearer 800 average.
The reason being is because of the feel good factor of promotion meaning better crowds home and away. However, unless there is success on the pitch, I dare say support will dwindle.

Bradford I believe historically taken over 1000 on average over a season, we wont beat that unless we are top.

Can't see it being anywhere near 800 or even 700!
Junior's guess is probably about right.

Average for us - 300 to 400. Look at it historically, we've rarely taken big numbers to games.

I think that our average away crowd might well be affected by the location of many of the teams in L2 compared to those in the BSP.

Bradford will have more at away games, but it won't stop the crowd size fixations ;D

Average for us - 300 to 400. Look at it historically, we've rarely taken big numbers to games. I think you're way out there Poguey. An average of 350 would give a total Oxford away support of only 8,000. We know we'll have close to 5,000 at Wycombe, Cheltenham & Burton combined! Last season we only took fewer than 400 to two matches - Barrow & Altrincham - and averaged 935 away. Looking at some of the other fixtures - Gillingham, Southend, Bradford, Aldershot, Stevenage, Northampton, Barnet - I'd be very surprised if we couldn't average 750, more if we're top of the league!

We averaged 900 in league matches last season. And that was with games at Luton, Tamworth eastbourne etc selling out our allocation and would have taken more. We had Mansfield Cambridge and Crawley on Tuesdays, which we obviously would have taken more to on a Sat. We only have 3? tuesday away games. One being Cheltenham, which we will still sell out.
Surely we will average 900+ away fans again this season??
I know our away support was average when was in this league before (impart from when top under Atkins) but then we was pissed off being in the basement league, and thought we was to good/big for it. all depressed with Kassam owning club etc. Now we're on the up and have the feel good factor, we'll have a better following surely?
Talking to mates who support Wycombe and Cheltenham, apparently Bradford don't have a great following considering there home support.

Well said. 935 average is a MASSIVE away average. There are a good few Premiership clubs who can't get anywhere near that. Yes last season was a great year for the club - but we've always had a loyal core of 400 that travel to most away games. If we do well next season then it could be up around the 900 mark again.

Our away average will be less than last season. Yes there's more Saturday away games but they're also further away.
Money's a lot tighter for more people now than it probably was a year ago and the closer away games don't have particularly large away ends eg Cheltenham 1100, Northampton 800, Hereford 640, Aldershot 1100) to help up our average.
I think we'll average 500-600 away. More if the season's a belter.
