One trick raponi you talk the biggest load of sh!t I have ever read we will have far more than that average you suggest over the course of the season!!! He's only stating an opinion. His opinion, and one which he is entirely entitled to. Don't shoot someone down simply because they have a conflicting opinion - it really does make the point of a forum meaningless. Why don't you make a numerical estimation on the average away support to back up your rather ambiguous comment so we can all pick holes in you too?

Water off a duck's back mate. It is as you say only an opinion.
I'm now waiting for oxfordcasual81 to launch into pogue, junior & m for their equally similar thoughts ;D

Since it will depend to a large extent upon the away capacity of the various grounds that we will be visiting, does anyone have a list of the away capacity of the League 2 grounds. With that one can make a reasonable estimate,

Yes da big fella. I had thought about this when trying to gauge our away support. Most of the closer away games to us don't have large away ends.
Here's the list taken from yesterday's Oxford Mail and when we play them there:-
The figures are taken from yesterday's Oxford Mail so expect some inaccuracies ;D but will be roughly what our away allocations will be this season and dates of the fixtures:-
Accrington (Sat Apr 16th) 1500 Aldershot (Sat Jan 8th) 1100 Barnet (Easter Monday 25th April) 1500 Bradford (Sat Oct 30th) 1300 Burton (Sat Aug 8th) 1500 Bury (Sat Apr 2nd) 2000 Cheltenham (Tue Sept 28th) 1100 Chesterfield (Tue Nov 23rd) 1850 Crewe (Sat Sep 25th) 1680 Gillingham (Sat Feb 5th) 1500 Hereford (Sat Sep 11th) 640 Lincoln (Sat Dec 11th) 1900 Macclesfield (Sat Oct 16th) 1900 Morecambe (Sat Feb 19th) 1389 Northampton (Sat Jan 22nd) 800 Port Vale (Sat Mar 12th) 4500 Rotherham (Sat Nov 13th) 2000 Shrewsbury (Sat May 7th) 1500 Southend (Tue Feb 1st) 2000 Stevenage (Boxing Day) 1400 Stockport (Sat Mar 5th) 2358 Torquay (Mon Jan 3rd) 1300 Wycombe (Sat Aug 21st) 2000

1000 average would be damned impressive for us. The best we've ever averaged as a club since the glory days of the mid 80's certainly - maybe even ever.

Some of the grounds with a smaller away end, which of them has room for a possible extra allocation?

1000 average would be damned impressive for us. The best we've ever averaged as a club since the glory days of the mid 80's certainly - maybe even ever. We averaged over 900 away fans last season, with a lot smaller allocations at some grounds. And filled our allocation at a fair few so couldn't take anymore. So why is it so unrealisitic to match that this season? Especially when we have a lot more closer games, and only a couple mid week away games.

I think it will be Bradford with the largest away support, for us it will depend on results. (as it will be for Bradford as well)

If we are going promotion, we will easily break 1,000 average. Burton & Wycombe will total approx 3,500 in 2 games, Stevenage on boxing day will 1,400? then in March/April if things are going well there will be more than 1,000 at Port Vale, Barnet, Accrington, Stockport, Bury. However if midtable the crowds at these games will be approx 600 which will bring average down below 1,000.

For thous that think we will average 1000. I would like to think you are correct but I think you maybe a couple of hundred to high.

I've had a re-think. My original guesstimate was too low. , I think we'll average somewhere around 650-750.
For those who think we're going to take 1000 this is the sort of away followings we'll need -
1250 average for games at Crewe, Bradford, Torquay, Gillingham, Port Vale & Shrewsbury
as well as sell outs at Burton, Wycombe, Hereford, Cheltenham, Stevenage, Aldershot, Northampton & Barnet.
600 average for games at Macclesfield, Rotherham, Chesterfield, Lincoln, Southend, Morecambe, Stockport, Bury & Accrington.
I hope you're right and I'm way off the mark!
I just see too many factors out there to reduce our fantastic away numbers from last season.

Sell out Port Vale and we will average over 1,000 away next season! Bradford have a 25,000+ stadium, yet away fans only get 1,300!
