Has it been confirmed anywhere that bbc oxford aren't able to broadcast the game live over the net.
i.e. I'll have to buy the yellow player to listen live if I don't live in oxfordshire?
Thanks

The official site ran a story on it a few days ago. You have to have yellow player to listen to all games from the start of the season until we drop out of the league again or get big enough to feature on 5live.

So it will be FM as normal but I think they are in negotiations to see if they can broadcast also via an iphone app, yet to be confirmed though.

Its not down to OUFC or Radio Oxford though
Its a contract between the website people and the football league Bit of a con to get people to sign up for the various clubs 'player'
If you can get radio Oxford on your radio you will be OK for home & away games, its just the onlinen stuff affected - I think & hope

Yep, I bit the bullet and signed up for Yellow Player. In previous years though, there have been (illegal?) links available for the coverage. I assumed that YP might be helping the club out financially though, so I shelled out.

We pay Jerome & Co for the commentary (through our beeb licence fee 'tax') only for us to have to pay again to actually hear what is essentially a bbc programme. Presumably the beeb are getting money from the ptv folk so are getting paid twice. It stinks I tell ya. Luckily I can just about get a crackly FM rad-ox so i'll be going with that.

The licence fee is a con. Its supposed to ensure the impartiality of the BBC because everybody has to pay it and it doesn't come from the government. But then of course the government has to give them permission to charge it. It should be scrapped and replaced with a ringfenced fund supplied from the regular tax budget. It'll never happen though, particularly not now.

The problem is, I like listening to games if I cant get there!!! Radio Oxford doesnt quite make it to Southampton and within the next two weeks moving to Essex --- doesn't make it to there either. Looks like a £40 shellout... :-(

All uk licence subscribers should by rights not have to pay twice,i can see their point with overseas listeners.....the licence is a feckin big con anyway...why cant the conts do a bit of work for a change and get some advertising like the rest of the stations

How are you going to tell what's happening before yellow player as they will have the commentary live.? For 29.99 this years repeat subscription it could well be worth it just to listen to the away games I can not get to.
