Most away games i'll be able to update on here if anyone fancies it. Burton i'll be able to tell you what happens before it comes on the YellowPlayer. If its wanted? Ox I am confused. How are you going to tell what's happening before yellow player as they will have the commentary live.? For 29.99 this years repeat subscription it could well be worth it just to listen to the away games I can not get to. I've read that there is a couple of minutes delay with the Yellow Player commentary, whereas the broadcast on Rad Ox is "live". Can anyone confirm that?

The word 'player' tells you it is a recording. Radio Oxford will continue broadcasting the match over the airwaves if you live in the Oxford area. They will not be broadcasting on line. That is why 'exiles' will have to subscribe to yellow player and receive the Radio Oxford commentary that is 2 or 3 minutes old. You can also get 'goal flashes' on various videoprinters (BBC, Sky Sports, and last season NLNP) before it is broadcast by yellow player.

Thank for that I did not know this, I subscribe to yellow player as I guess you could call me an exile. As I only listen to YP I have no idea it was behind.

In practice, it is not always possible. e.g Sky player, which I also have, would not work in Holland for the play off final. Something to do with Skys broadcast rights only being valid in UK.

I used to subscribe to YP when we were in the league previously. But I have got quite used to having the commentary as part of my licence fee. It is a bit of a double whammy, which sucks. But us exiles are likely to have no choice.....

I think it's bizarre that I have to subscribe to YP to listen to a BBC broadcast in. . . . . . . . . . . WEST SUSSEX for crying out loud!

As another "exile", I think I can find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon... I normally only catch part of the commentary anyway - and sometimes it won't play when I am trying to listen...
Surely they could sell advertising, like Spotify? Those who want to pay £30 can, the rest of us get our commentary interrupted by ads - and they get more numbers through the site. If I miss a goal... big deal!

Leicester City offer their season ticket holders free membership of their 'blue player', why doesn't Oxford do the same?

Leicester City offer their season ticket holders free membership of their 'blue player', why doesn't Oxford do the same? WHilst its obviously nice to do and I see no reason why not, but it wouldnt help on the commentary front is by law of logic if your trying to listen to the commentary and your out of oxfordshire, it means your not at the game so chances are if you do that regualrly your not gonna have a season ticket.

I've bitten the bullet and paid £34.99 for an annual Direct Debit.
Pleased with it so far !
and you can log in on other club sites i.e Burton and find out what's going on up there.
There needs to be more content i.e more interviews going forward though, but the commentary will be useful at times.

I too had the Yellow Player four years ago but found it annoying. The thing that got wound up me the most was when it kept on stopping and buffering, the delay was also un-nerving as I always knew when a goal was coming. Hopefully it has got better, I'll be looking forward to any reports anyone's got.

Well, from my informed services, Jack FM will be streaming the game via their website. Have to say I don`t know wether there will be a time delay or anything. Selfy and the banana boys are in full training for the coming season. So, if you cannot listen to the game via any other way, where ever you are in the world give Jack FM a go. It may not be as professional as radox, but Selfy is probably as knowlegeable about OUFC as anyone.
In the mean time just wish to add its good that this forum has flourished after the demise of thisisoxford, and come on you yellows.

Just signed up for yellow player, used to have it last time in league, dont mind paying, do the club get some money from it. A way of supporting the club if you cant get to many games.
