What do you think the main differences will be this season?

I'm not sure there will be all that great a diifference, especially between the bsp and the clubs in the bottom half of L2.
In fact history has shown that the clubs in the top 5/6 of the bsp are probably better than the bottom 5/6 in L2.
I think the standard in the top half of L2 will be better but only in the sense that the pitches will allow better play and the players will be less defensive and have a more expansive mindset rather than in the sense of them being substantially better professionals.

We won't get any gimmes in this league
Finishing 3rd in this league is success, finishing 3rd in the Conf is not

first team Oxford second team southport. The conference is going to be a really difficult league to get out of. I see southport having problems and near to relegation but there are some really good teams in the conference

I expect league 2 to be more competitive week in week out. Not necessarily much better in quality but it will have fewer poor sides in it.
More teams will have better strikers. More teams will be tougher to break down.
As Love in an elevator says- there will be fewer gimmes.
I expect most of the top sides to be up there because they try and play attacking football. The top 6 or 7 sides should be a notch above what we've been used to playing against.
I don't think lump it sides will have that much joy when it comes to getting a play off spot.
I don't think League 2 will be of a higher standard than we remember it. If anything I expect the bottom half to be a little poorer.
Over the last few seasons at least one if not both relegation places have been taken up by sides docked points for going into administration.
Some poor sides have probably survived because of it.

I don't envisage many major differences. As normally happens when you go up a league there will probably be a bit more speed of thought and a touch more calmness on the ball. I also think the division will be tighter than the BSP, with less teams rolling over and taking a battering.

I feel the league just has a more "professional" feel whereas BSP is mickey mouse.
For us, both us and other teams expected us to be at the top or thereabouts, in Div 2, that wont be expected.
I would also expect players that do well will be more visable. If say for example Beano got 20+ goals, I would be suprised if a Championship side took at chance and came in for him

Other than Stevenage, it'll be different teams that we play this year OTR. Hope that helps clear up any confusion on your part.

Pedants corner would like to pint out that the above statement is untrue. We also played Torquay and Burton last year. I hope this clears up any confusion on PM's part. You're welcome!

Seriously do people except players to have more time on the ball, I just cannot see it. So many teams are in this league now from the conference since 2007 I can think of 6 or 25% of the league so why will it be any different to last season?

Agree 100%There's a popular myth that as you go up the leagues there's a lot more time for the 'creative' types. This is the reason why many used to utter nonsense such as "Andy Burgess would be a better player in a higher league*". Utter tripe. Good sides will always have players who don't allow you time on the ball - AT ALL LEVELS OF ENGLISH FOOTBALL. *before he was royally exposed as the tos ser he is
