Brilliant today in both attack and defence, prompting and probing and some lovely play in the build up for the second goal.
Pound for pound he could be a better signing than Maclean who looks like he thinks he deserves better...

What a gem.
Harsh on Maclean, thought he was as good as ever.

McLaren was superb. He had that extra second on the ball and didn't once panic which seemed to rub off on his team mates.

I think Maclean has a bit of arrogance about him. But that's arrogance in a good way.

What a gem. Harsh on Maclean, thought he was as good as ever. I wasn't criticising Maclean, rather observing his silence before the game and conduct after it (waving and throwing his shirt to the crowd).

mclaren was pure class today. Kept the ball brilliantly and kept the team driving forward.
i lost count of the times when rather than facing a second wave of pressure, mclaren managed to keep the ball and get oxford on the front foot.

What did McClaren have on the back of his shirt today for his name? It didn't look like McClaren or do I need glasses!
He was sheer class today, my man of the match closely followed by mclean.

First class today. Won everything on the floor AND in the air AND used the ball very well too. He was the platform that allowed the rest of the team to play and ultimately dominate the game.

did anyone else see MacLean stand on the ball again a la torquay towards the end just after we won a freekick on the edge of their box. Great swagger!

The thing that stood out for me about McClaren today is that when the ball was bouncing around, he had the composure to have a touch and get it down. Have seen few players at this level do that consistently. Very good signing.

McLaren was immense today. The whole team played well but he stood out for me.

Couldnt make the last couple of games so today was my first look at him.
Very impressed. Calm and collected at all times. Can pick a pass and probably most importantly, makes us look like a threat at corners. If we can get the movement in the box right we may actually start scoring from them!
