I got one for you- adapted from an old Manky Utd song, which i admit to liking.
Oxford are the greatest - No one can deny - We're here to today we're here to Stay - We'll be here when s***don Die... We won the League we won the (milk!) Cup, we should have been in Europe too - And when we get promoted - we'll sing this song to you... (All together now) UNITED - UNITED - UNITED...

Well I think the arguement for a dedicated singing section is dead in the water now. It looked to me like no one from the "we need to stand with our mates and everyone that goes to away games" party could be bothered to moved over there. Or is it that you only want one if it's in the area you want? Saying that it was a great atmosphere to day....partly down to the young lads on the rights banter with the leftside but I would say the football on the pitch lifted everyone.

We went there, waited until 5 mins before KO and only about 5 other people turned up. So we went back to the middle right.

So we went back to the middle right. 3 lads turned up when we made the decision to move back with 5 minutes today. It was actually quite busy up there as well, not sure we'd have all fitted mind. It's annoying when people seem so keen for the idea, but when it actually comes down to it they won't take part, it can make things as simple as a decent atmosphere a right misson.

Exactly my point.... People will harp on about a singing section but when faced with having to give up their view to achieve it they do a U turn....unless ofcourse they can see it as a way of getting someone elses better view I think the experiement proves 100% the above The other thing it proves is that the lads rightside middle do have the atmosphere at heart as they were the only one's that did try and give it a go and I don't blaim them for going back to their normal seats when no one else was bothered to back them.

There'd have been no point in staying there with just us and 3 others so the choice was made to move back where you can influence more people. It's a shame as everyone loves a good atmosphere but there seems to be a lack of people trying to achieve it at home games...

I went with my two mates, stood there the whole match. Really disappointed that no-one else bothered to turn up to be honest. I probably sang less than I normally do as I tend to be in front of a pretty vocal group to the centre-left of the stand, and that's where I'll be for the next home game.
What's the point of people saying they're going to do something on here and then not following through?
For the record, there was one really vocal bloke in the second half a few rows down, one bloke behind us that was making a bit of a racket, three directly in front of us who offered the occasional song and one more lad a few rows down who was also quite vocal. That was it.

What time did you get there, when we were there up till 5 minutes before KO, only 3 lads had made themselves known to us.

Any one who tried moving, the pro active lot. I STRONGLY suggest moving in to where we are in future as it loks like a lot can't be bothered with moving.

Got to my seat at 3 someone was in it so went right to the back right corner and had a bit of a sing song. There were a few others just in front and a couple more about 6-7 rows from where I was but certainly wasnt the numbers I had expected. The woman next to me had her hands over her ears a couple of times.
Will probably go towards the centre again.

An idea suggested yesterday was, that if we were gunna try a move again, that we all meet somewhere before hand, like the priory or outside the stand, and get a guage of numbers.

I got there about 2.40pm. There was a group of young lads right at the back (Ultras?), I didn't realise we needed to 'make ourselves known'
I just stood a few rows down. It seemed to be getting busier and busier leading up to kick off then about five mins before the players came out everyone at the back filtered along towards the middle and that was it.
I'd be pretty sad to see this die in the water as I think it's needed, something away from the Ultras (no disrespect), but it has to feel 'normal', whereas the Ultras, fantastic as they are, will only attract a very narrow set of fans.

I got 3 others to move from their normal seats on the left side to the far right hand side. At around 2.40pm from the Priory, we looked across and saw some people at the top on the right of the stand. We got in the stand around 3pm, and sat half way down. I spoke to a couple of people around me who said they had come over especially for the singing section, but noone was up the top anymore. No one is going to make themselves known, they will just follow someone elses lead. Im a big supporter of the Ultras, and feel a lot of stick directed their way has been slightly unfair, but from what i could see, around 20 people made the effort to move across for the singing section, and if the ultras hadnt moved back before kick off, that would have been quite decent on the far right side Saturday. What the ultras need to realise is, is that people wont join them, but if they do something, they will join in

Went top right, but as the ultras lads said we went back to the middle cos it seemed noone turned up.
The atmosphere was very good though...things are getting serious now in the league and the excitement levels are rising. I think before christmas things were a bit flat due to obscure position and poor performances.
That said, it's still an idea worth persevering with....unbelievable how many moody fans there are dotted around behind the goal who don't even stand up in the top rows, looking completely uninterested and even slightly pissed off by people singing. What u doing in the east stand, saving a couple of quid?!

We made the choice to go back to our normal area where we could influence more than what we thought were 3 other people. If this was ever to happen again, alot more things need to happen than just a few words on a message board. Everyone should meet up before hand and not at 3, so you can have an idea of numbers.

Fair comment. I suppose it was all a bit unorganised.
