Just to say I intend to drag me and my mate to the top right, not planning on changing my ticket though so hopefully people aren't going to get arsey with those of us whose seat numbers don't correspond. Looking forward to this massively

No drum or I might rethink the move!!!
We don't need a drum, that's for teams incapable of making their own atmosphere and we're going to prove on Saturday that that's not us.

However bad the atmosphere gets - we don't need a drum!

Wispa- you say the song sheets aren't neccesary, and probably for you they aren't, but to create an atmosphere people that dont go as often, or kids for example might wanna buy one. Kids love little souvenirs like that aswell so could be a money spinner for 12th man aswell as getting a few more people to sing!

^^^^ that was kind of my thought. Between half a dozen it doesn't cost a lot and doesn't take too much time. We want singing from all sections and if people don't know the songs a sheet could help. I suppose it's a win win either way even if they buy and don't sing if the money goes to 12th man.
Maybe an idea for next season? Start where we mean to begin with the first home game or something. Who knows it may not be necessary by then

Fair points, I thought you meant for like.. in this little section we may get going.. I think songs should get going quite well in there. But maybe for other parts of the ground it could work. =) Any ways, looks like we could have quite a good little group of singers over there. =)

Yeah I probably didn't explain myself too well was thinking at some point getting outside South Stand etc 50p a go sell 100 which is effectively 1 in 70 which should be easy enough and you are talking probably 40 quidish after paper etc. Gets a few more singing in the other stand eventually. Sell maybe at 10 home games and there's 400 quid done.
TBH as more songs are made and more fans begin getting involved I dont see why a lot more couldn't get sold. Any songs for particular teams means a new sheet etc so could make a bit of money to help things along. Once the first one is printed the format stays the same just adaptations additions or submissions throughout the season.
When work has chilled out a bit I may give it a trial run of 100 or so and see what happens.
Agree mate I reckon sat could be a good one must have 25+ by now in that top right area?

On your song book idea. Why not turn it into a ultra blog type sheet(s) keep everyone up to date with your movements home and away could include pics, have a new writer each edition?
You could also include the song list idea, at the same time telling people where to find you and how to get involved...

I'm not part of the ultras but I do like the idea. Personally i reckon start with songs maybe you could add a bit on ultras demonstrations etc and go from there like you said.
Did journalism for my sins at uni a few years ago so am happy to assist in writing etc. Works so mad at the mo I haven't got free time other than sats to get on with it. Definitely reckon there's something in it

In all honesty, preparing some of the displays we do is hard enough work as it is, what with most of us in important years of school, I play rugby.. painting and getting banners/flags sewn up, we struggle already, you will quite often find Lituanian Disco Power finishing off banners in the early hours of saturday morning.

That's fair enough I struggle with time myself especially at the moment. Once this years dust has settled (before the end of the season too) I will get a simple sheet or sheets or book together with songs from a thread I will set up. Will see how it goes and work from there. As with everything it's time money etc but will make it a point to get one done as a trial asap and see what happens.
If it works or sells then perhaps wispa we sort something out just by telling me like this forum what you have planned and I will write it up.
Anyway at the moment it's a Kevin Costner field of dreams moment but the song book will get a day out this season.

I accept this won't be a popular point of view -but i find the idea of song sheets etc more cringeworthy and embarrassing than having a drum at matches.
Ok so some people need encouragement- or just plain courage to sing, so why not do what some of our European neighbours fans do -and have a 'Cheer leader' of a sort, for example some geezer with a mobile mic? Or maybe Mr Givvus an OOoo might add more songs to his reportoire?

Having a capo amongst support is always a good thing, means you get a nice variety of songs and everyone can follow the lead and be in time. I've taken it upon myself to do this before at a smaller games with the group and some of the looks you get are priceless ;D
