Biggest test of pre-season and I'll think we'll get an idea of Wilder's first choice XI.
I think it'll be an entertaining game, 2 all I predict.
Who's going?

I shall be there, warming up my seat for the coming season. Seems like forever since we were last there, but I hoping this will be a good competitive game and a chance to see where the squad is at.

I'm going. I'm not sure what the crowd will be today, maybe 2.5k-3k?
I'm looking forward to seeing the new squad for the first time.

I'd hope to see a few more than that for the first home friendly since Wembley, but we'll see. It's against decent opposition and the first chance for many to see the new players, so I'm gonna go for around 3.5k maybe pushing to 4k with a trailing wind as they say.

This match thread is also a test of us. Haven't a few posters said they'll decide whether to use this forum depending on the quality of the match thread?

Im glad to see someone has started this. Im not going today as i have a rather big event happening soon and i need to spend my money on that for now. But for today, ill be listening to radio Oxford, and posting on here. Leeicester will provide a strong test today, and the result isnt important. Sometimes losing teaches Wilder more than winning does. So it will be interesting to see how it goes

2-1 leicester i reckon. Still, it's a cracking way to set a benchmark and a thrashing may well work in our favour just as it did with peterborough last season. We went away from that game eager to learn from the mistakes and made a pretty good start!

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Worley will start the season ahead of Creighton?

Think you may well be right JL, although i personally would feel a bit sorry for beast as he tends to pull performances out of the bag when it counts eg york 1st game and i thought he had a great game at wembley, just to name 2 - saying that would have to agree with some that he may struggle aginst some of the pacier strikers

I think we'll get a draw 1-1.
I'm not sure if CW will put out the 1st XI. I think it'll be 80-90%.

That goal papered over a very shaky debut.

The result will depend a lot on whether Chris Wilder sees this as a competitive game, or a fitness exercise. I suspect the latter. It will also depend on what sort of side Leicester put out as well. Personally I can never decide when you start to look for a settled side or a fit bunch of players.

Is this the OFFICIAL thread, or just another one of those fake threads? ?? Radio Oxford isnt the best pre match during pre season. I want to hear all things Oxford United, not Abba!!!!

United: Clarke, Batt, Creighton, Wright, Tonkin, Bulman, Heslop, Hall, Potter, Deering, Constable
Subs: Eastwood, Franks, Worley, Kinniburgh, West, Cole, Midson, Green
presume anyone not in the squad has a knock

Well, there are plenty of cheap imitation threads out there, especially with people still making up their minds about which site to use.... I think the title needs some of this +++++ OFFICIAL LEICESTER CITY MATCH THREAD +++++ to hold some legitimacy.
