Seams a very strange call. Unless someone is injured.

It's on the official site now. www.oufc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10342~2108404,00.html It says initial loan of a month, I suppose CW wants to see what he's like. He plays at Banbury tonight.

...based on Wilders comment on the official site it looks as though there is a transfer option if he does well.

I'd say it's more of a months trial. If he looks good and okay. We'll have him for 6months or longer. Good choice i say. If we had him on a long term loan, and turned out no to be good enough. You'd have all moaned then too.

It's a gamble I think, this will be his first experience of senior football hence the month's loan which is effectively a trial. Let's hope he turns out to be an absolute gem for us!
He scored 11 times for Chelsea reserves last season from what I can make out. Would you sat Chelsea's reserve team plays against teams that are better than League 2 standard?
Best of Luck Danny.

I got the striker call all wrong. I assumed that the faith being shown in Woodley this year would prompt Wilder to bring in an experienced strker to bolster the front line - Wilder seems hell-bent on continuing down the "young and hungry" route.
Does the arrival of another youngster signify that Wilder has fresh doubts over Woodley?

Good stuff. Remember how good Jordan Rhodes was.

Presumably the son of former Sheffield United and Bolton Wanderers striker Tony Philliskirk.
Had rave reviews 3 years ago and lets hope he can fulfil some of that potential.
Were Chris Wilder and Tony Philliskirk team mates at Bramall Lane?

I see Chelsea describe him as a midfielder? United describe him as a second striker or midfield? That implies that he is not an out an out striker one capable of taking on the role of Beano in an emergency, but acting as a replacement for Jack Midson? But as he is only on loan for a month he could be covering both Baker and Midson, until injury or form get's better.

Doesnt sound like the type of striker I thought we needed, but non the less look forward to seeing if he can make an impact

Does anyone know if he was the triallist? No he wasn't. The trialist at City, was a kinda holding midfielder who i'd say was mid to late 20's. And players called him rich. And concrete Bob, The website says he is playing at Banners tonight

CW's comment 'I think people underestimate the level we are playing at' was interesting, who was he referring to? Supporters, Chairman??

Just watched his interview on Yellow Player and it's very positive. He describes himself as a creative player who likes to get assists and if a chance comes his way he'll stick it in the back of the net.
He sounds keen to force his way into the 11 and show the fans and team what he can do. Sounded to me like he out to get a contract whether here or somewhere else in the league rather than your usual Prem loan out for "experience". Lets hope he can earn himself a contact with us in over the next month.

Looked good. That was a couple years ago too. If he keeps confident, i think he'll be ok. I see in that video, he played and scored at Burtons ground and scored against ex OUFC keeper Ben Hinchcliffe.
