Another one of those 'Trust in Wilder' jobs it would seem. Agree with you there. It's the same with all the new/new signings (rather than the previous loanees) Give the bloke a chance!

the lad is just 21 years old and was previously snapped up by Chelsea so he's obviously got the skill. Seems like all he needs is a team that will give him a chance long term so he can settle in - hence a 3 year deal.

I saw him at Livingston on Tuesday, he looked good and solid and made at least one excellent tackle. Hope he proves Chris right.

Can't be that bad if he played 23 games for them last season.

3 year deal is brave and dont think he would have got that length of deal to be back up for the beast, Wilder surely must view him as a starter. Crewe were hardly solid at the back last year but he is young and could be a big improver, would suggest Wilder thinks so.

I think Andy Melville is a good judge of a centre half and I therefore trust him with the Worley transfer.

Our management must be damn sure about him then. Must rate him as high as Beano and Wright!

Seems a long deal, maybe there are clauses in it with numbers of games per season and things for if he doesn't meet expectations. With the young players we have on 2-3 year deals I think CW is trying to create a squad which can mature together and develop a tight bond which will make them stronger than the sum of the individual players.

I was surprised he got a 3 year contract, but Harry Worley has a lot of potential, and could play at a higher level possibly, so if he is decent, its a great deal for the club. Even if it doesnt work out, i think a manager somewhere will think he can do a job cause of his cv, so its win win for us. But i think he will do well

I haven't seen him play yet, am going tomorrow and Tuesday so I expect he'll get a run out in one of them.
It's a long contract, CW must think he's got potential.

Do we know if he has much pace? Iirc, CW said he did have good pace. In the Livingston game one of their strikers got clean through a few yards and he managed to chase him down and get the tackle in to stop what looked like being a goal. Wasn't lightning quick like a winger but certainly a lot quicker than Day or Beast.

Hope Wilder has seen something the Crewe fans didnt, they didnt rate him one bit. Crewe conceded more goals than every team in league 2 last year except Darlington, lets hope the other defenders were at fault for this!

Grays fans slated Batt before he signed for us, so I'd take opposition fans views with a pinch of salt. So much of it depends on the team around him and whether he's settled in the team, which is probably why we've given him 3 years. Give him some security and a chance to rebuild his career hopefully he'll repay the favour.
