Just got to say, Berbatov's second goal yesturday was absolutely incredible, and by far one of the best goals Ive seen in ages purely for the technique... He destroyed liverpool yesturday, fairplay to him.

It was only going to be a matter of time before those who continuously slag off Berbatov were left with egg on their faces

Amarillo, with all due respect Berbatov was poor last season for Utd, this season he seems so far to have re-discovered some of his goalscoring form from his time at spurs.
He was incredible yesturday.

He was incredible yesturday. I think poor is an exaggeration. While not scoring loads, he created a lot. His lazy looking style and the big transfer fee makes him an easy target.

The point I was trying to get across amarillo, is that we all know strikers are ultimately judged on their goal-scoring, and form infront of goal, and as you pointed out, he indeed did not score loads last season. But, in my opinion he seems to have picked up some of his old goal-scoring form from his time as a tottenham player, and I think yesturdays hat-trick only emphasises my point.

You seem to be forgetting that his goal ratio at Man U is almost exactly the same as it was at Spurs. He's been a pretty consisitent scorer at OT considering the number of actual starts he's made. Like Fergie says, for £30m you have to be banging in hatricks week in week out for some to be happy. Within weeks of his arrival Rooney described him as the best strike partner he has ever played with and that, to me, was a ringing endorsement. What he probably lacked prior to yesterday was big goals, goals aginst the better teams. Although he'd struck doubles against the likes of Chelsea for Spurs he hadn't really done that at Man U. He has his poor games like everyone but the slating he got on here showed quite a few up as what was pretty obvious anyway - clueless about football.

This assessment of Berbatov is after 1 good match where he was brilliant and scored 3 good goals. Most people's criticism of him is that he doesn't do that consistently enough, who's to say in the next 4 or 5 matches he'll go back into his shell and not score?

Cesc Fabregas (a midfielder), Steven Gerrard (a midfielder) AND Frank Lampard (a midfielder) will all score more goals than Berbatoss (a striker) this season. I'll say it now. You were saying?

I think he is under-rated due to his style and body language which somehow makes him look as if he can't be arsed. If you watch him closely his work rate is actually very good you just don't notice it as much as you do with someone like Rooney or Tevez. I'm not saying its going to happen, but it wouldn't surprise me greatly if he scored 30 this season and won player of the year. Very good assessment...
