Great game. He does try and do everything with that touch of class though ! I'd liked to have seen him blast those two chances from so close to the goal. Put your foot through it and few keepers gather those from that near. For 20 minutes at the start of the second half that was as good as I've seen Man U play for a season or two, ironically a period in which they didn't score in !

Hardly would say Berbatov was "pure class" against Newcastle, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs put in better performances than him, all he did was score, oh and if your going to attempt to pull of an overhead kick like he did, at least TRY and make it look good despite missing

If you can't recognise Berbatov was superb last night then it doesn't say too much about what you know. Him and Scholes ran the show, those two must have traded 50 or 60 passes between them. Berbatov should have scored at least two more I'd grant you that much but everything else was top drawer.

They might have been good, but they were up against rubbish.

Ok I admit, my post was an attempt to wind up a certain Man Utd fan on this thread, he didnt catch on sadly Berbatov did have a top draw game, although I disagree that he "ran the show" , the Newcastle game belonged to Paul Scholes, some of the passes he pulled off in that game were unbelievable and he quite rightly got the man of the match award.

You can't support two clubs FFS.

It's not just that CB, but if they're going to support a second club why would they be stupid enough to choose Man U? And it's not even like they're from some third world place where the people don't know any better like Malaysia or Stevenage or somewhere.

Cesc Fabregas (a midfielder), Steven Gerrard (a midfielder) AND Frank Lampard (a midfielder) will all score more goals than Berbatoss (a striker) this season. I'll say it now.

But that wasent the bet!!

I know that wasn't the bet, but really you shouldn't be expecting a £30million striker to be below Gerrard, Lampard and Fabregas in the goal-scoring stakes. Last season Vermaelen (a centre back) nearly scored as many as Berbatoss! ;D

Those 3 midfielders are pretty exceptional goalscorers and will outscore many strikers. There is a lot more to Berbatovs game than scoring goals and a strikers effectiveness is not always measured purely by goals. Emile heskey being the perfect example, although admittedly he took the non-goalscoring to a ridiculous level!
Berbatovs looking pretty sharp in front of goal though and I reckon he'll get 20 odd this season.
