Looking at this row over the clone derived meat entering the food chain i can't understand what all the fuss is about. It seems to me that a procedural wrangle over the fact that someone should have notified the authorities that the animal was clone derived but didn't, combined with a potential animal rights issue, is being massively over egged by the news-media
Especially when one considers the other stories pushed down the headlines by this, such as the bank recovery, the pakistan floods and the stemming of the gulf oil leak. Are the news-media just bored or am i missing soemthing?

It saves them getting off their collective arses and going out and finding some real news.

What like a drop of oil that's now not in the ocean off America. If that had been anywhere else that would have stopped being news with 24 hours. And here I was thinking the Americans wanted free oil.

Is this meat bad for you? I think this is the issue as no one knows, as no long term study has been done.

Is this meat bad for you? I think this is the issue as no one knows, as no long term study has been done. I think you'll find a fair few in depth studies have been carried out in the USA where clone derived meat and GM foods are much more common and not as contentious or controversial as they are in britian. Even the media outlets who seemed to be over hyping the issue commented on the fact there is no evidence to suggest thet the meat would actually be any different from meat from a non clone-derived cow. Which is why i don;t understand the hype. maybe just a slow day in the office? Plus I'd argue strenuously that the largest oil spill in history would be headline news no matter where it happened.
