What are you currently listening to? Recommendations? Tune of the day? So many questions.... Anyone heard the new Arcade Fire album? I haven't, as far as I am concerned, music stopped being good with The Pogues' last album. Today, it has been about The Kinks on the way to work. Nice bit of Lola & Waterloo Sunset to cheer you up before another dull day reading an internet forum whilst Alt-Tabbing when someone comes over to ask a question.

I've just started listening to the Arcade Fire Album, hasn't grown on me yet. I didn't really get into them first time around Lad I work with brought this at lunch from HMV. Can't say I am overly bothered by it so far. I won't be sad when the album stops playing.

Currently listening to Absolute 80's and 90's on internet radio. Also like listening to HKGFM's 80's station. A lot brings back memories and think a lot of the older music was better.
One track just on which I thought "That was good!" was Lebanon by Human League

Seasick Steve. Caught him on top gear some time back. He's at Reading this weekend.

I wasn't that impressed on my first listen to the new Arcade Fire album, absolutely love the first two but I think it's a bit too simple and repetitive for me. But perhaps my views will change on re-listening. Recommendation has to be the new(ish) MGMT album Congratulations, not one bad track on it, good stuff.

Certainly not to my taste, I think it is generic teen-American rubbish (much like 'kings and queens', which must be one of the most clichéd tracks of the year. But hey, if you like it fair enough

But hey, if you like it fair enough I would agree in a way. I am one of those that likes "Anthemic" rock tunes hence some of my favourites are Where the streets have no name, a lots of Coldplay tunes, The Killers, etc. I think this band is slighly different. Lead singer is actually Jared Leto who is a good actor. He is my age. Kings and Queens, Closer to the Edge are mainstream, but most would admit are catchy, slightly hard songs which annoyingly you will end up singing along to or tapping your feet to

Had a quick scan through them (can't really listen to them whilst at work , not really my taste, but I think my wife would appreciate a fair few as she is more dance than indie like me. Just can't get into Biffy Clyro though, but perhaps this will change once I have seen them live on the 11th Sept (they are supporting Muse at Wembley).

Looking it up has given me a lovely little bit of Fight Club trivia

This thread kind of shows how uninteresting new music is at the moment. There's nothing to get really excited and passionate about. I guess I'll have to keep waiting for that sucker punch that Nirvana provided in the nineties to happen again.

There's exciting, interesting music if you look for it.
