I know this type of cock-measuring is really better suited to PL supporters but just interested as to people's opinions nonetheless really....in terms of support, history etc would you say we are the biggest, or if not where do we stand?

Surely Bradford are the biggest?
Berry can boast 2 FA Cups though
Port Vale would argue they are huge

Bury are historically big. Bradford and Port Vale get big crowds.
We have excellent support considering a lot of of Oxford's population is itinerant.

If you mean who's bigger then yeah Bradford, Port Vale and maybe Bury (just for the FA cup stuff).
Then it's us and Southend.
The rest are smaller in my opinion.

Southend and Bradford are the former vig clubs but Oxford are a big club too aren't they? The conference experience hurt.

Bradford - just a suburb of Leeds. If it wasn't for the fire no one would have heard of them. A few thousand people turn up for their matches because it is subsidised and there's nowt else to do.
Berry - might have the record win in an FA cup final but they will be easy pickings this year.
Port Vale - only get big crowds when Robbie Williams is in the stand.

The 'big' club in the league is Bradford City without a doubt. Big stadium , big support, big city and were in the Prem ten years ago.
Bury? - well if they were to get relegated to the CONference they would get gates a tad better than Altrincham I reckon.
Oxford, Southend, Gillingham, Stockport, Shrewsbury, Crewe, Port Vale and Chesterfield would be in the next cluster of clubs size wise.
The next group includes Aldershot, Northampton, Hereford, Torquay, Lincoln, Bury and Wycombe.
Minnows would have to include Macclesfield, Barnet, Stevenage, Morecambe, Burton, Cheltenham and Accrington.

I would say Bradford then us. But it will be interesting based on attendances who is the biggest this season, although thought I have heard Bradford have sold nearly 10,000 season tickets this year.
Southend are generally big but with their financial situation and lack of players feel there attendances will drop dramatically.

Bury haven't been 'big' since the 1920s!

If you look down to the total attendances for the Football Legue we would stand at nr 46 from the 92. I think we are big big big in L2

Without a doubt it is Accrington Stanley. They have17 letters in their name. Wycombe Wanderers only have 16.

Bury haven't been 'big' since the 1920s! Well yeah, while history is a factor you can't base it entirely on history or we'd be saying Huddersfield Town are a bigger club than Chelsea. Would Bury get 30,000 turning up at Wembley? I don't know. I'm guessing not though.

Bradford had a similar discussion bcafc.livewwware.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=55647and concluded that their Premiership adventure was a blip in a lower league existence, pretty similar to ourselves. Nonetheless, they think that other teams will treat them as a big club and play accordingly. This could be to our advantage - teams may park the bus against Bradford, but be a bit more expansive against us thinking there is more chance of getting all 3 points.

Bradford ARE the biggest team in league 2. And your team must be the smallest in league 1 and have the smallest fanbase in league 1 by a country mile.

Gillingham aren't that big. They got about the same amount as fans on average than us and they were 2 leagues above us. Port Vale only averaged 5,000 odd last year so don't know how they can call themselves big. Bradford are the biggest team then us!
