For those who were there - can I just ask how exactly we managed to fit Potter, Deering, Cole, Midson & Woodley into the same side??
I assume A Trialist was a holding midfielder, but even so that's a team with rather a dearth of midfield presence that we put out!!

A friendly is a friendly no matter who you play and they have to be played. The City game is always benificial to both sides as they get a good revenue and we get a local workout. Injuries and incidents could happen in any game and even training so we can't be too paranoid about the odd-knock.

Absolutely not. The games with local sides are an important part of the pre-season and benefit all parties concerned. If we should have learned anything from our time in non-league, it is that a club is defined by its success on the pitch, not an attitude off it. James Clarke approached the game as if he had something to prove. He did. Better to compete than not bother, but you did need quality too. Overall it was a poor game but a good atmosphere. I wish City well for the season. Agree with this. Besides, from all reports this years went much more smoothly than last years, so it would be great to see this fixture continue into the future.

Can't say that i'm in favour of knocking it on the head. As has already been mentioned, it's a good money spinner for both clubs, and it's usaully a pretty good spirited fixture.
Keep it going for now, i say!

It's not Otto. It's the dirty little team from down the way coining it in with hate filled jealousy in their eyes, off of the neighbours back.

Well ok, not for us. I guess i shouldn't have used that to try to justify keeping the fixture.
Out of curiosty, does anyone know how much it's worth to OCFC?

I don't understand this rumpus. Just as Leicester, QPR, ManU, Chelsea, Posh come to us, so we have a duty to visit our local teams. Didcot I read is as a thank you for using their ground for the reserves. But why Brackley two years in a row, and why not the Abingdon teams?

We should be playing Witney United instead.
