I still think it's worth doing the South Stand. We have to make everyone feel like they're involved, the point being that if this takes off then we want people to feel welcome further down the line to join in. If they remember seeing posters etc then they are more likely to feel that way. That email sounds good Carefree, let us know the response once you've got it. Maybe mention that we want the posters to remain up until after the Rotherham game. We need to sort out who is putting these up for the Shrewsbury match. I am happy to do the Oxford Mail Stand, I reckon we need one person doing the North Stand, and preferably two doing the South Stand. This includes printing the posters off in colour and buying the blue tack etc So who's gonna do the other stands then?

I think it will be easier if I email PDfs to people who want flyers PM me with your email address and I will send stuff over this weekend, As for the 'emailable flyer' I will put that on this thread up so anyone who wants can grab it
If you want to put posters up I will do some A3 ones B/W and colour

Hmmmm...80% of the the people who are gonna be useful for a 'singing section' will already be in the east stand, the other 19 in the north, and about 1 in the south.
I'm not sure how much it's about making people feel welcome and inviting fans who don't have much interest in vocal support. This is for the hardcore lot, that's how we going to make it loud enough and intense enough.

I know this is getting boring but block !9 is clearly in the NS I think we are talking about 18 we need to get it right or risk looking stupid

I don't see it as 'for the hardcore lot'. The Ultras provide that already. I see it more as a movement to get the average fan singing, otherwise there's no point in doing it as we already have the die-hards singing week in week out anyway.
In my head (and I'm sure most others) I see the pinnacle of this movement as the entire Oxford Mail stand full of people singing, there will be no singing section as everyone will join in! An unlikely end goal, but one worth trying to reach and even if we only get 50% of the way there then that's massive. This shouldn't become an elitist thing.

My maths make there 2 further blocks closer to the North Stand, meaning the block for the action is 21

I had my "once a season" experience in the South Stand last Saturday, and feel I have to offer some sort of defence! I was surprised how many youngish males there were. They got excited after our goals and even started a song after the second, but were spread out so it didn't really get going. Don't write off the potential if they could be organised into a specific area.

Posters advertising should be sent to OUFC friendly pubs too- Priory is an obvious must being the unofficial supporters club pre n post match, there a lot of others too ( Masons Arms Quarry for example)- info should be avail from the commercial dept, plus contributors on this forum will know of pubs (etc) that are pro Yellows. Just a thought : )

As you can probably tell my job's pretty easy going! I just called the club and was told that it's called block E6! So that's not much help really.
Just want to echo YellowHoods' sentiments too. We shouldn't write off any group of Oxford fans, I bet most of us started in the family stand and moved to the 'end' when we got older. It's no different now.

Completely agree with this there are plenty of people in the South Stand who I am sure would like to get involved. I have sat there before and there are a number of people who are fairly vocal. They are the ones we want to win over and join, then we can begin to build on the right side of the OMS

Its definatly block 21. But it's also E6 too. I think block 21 sounds better though.
