At the moment we are flying, is this all down to Maclean? Has wilder changed anything major? Or have we just clicked at last??

Our midfield is working, and we're scoring goals. Maclaren is a lot to do with that, and Craddock getting involved in the build-up play/scoring/Maclean's presence has made all the difference I think.

Think it is because we are starting to click, the 1st few games of the season we played well but just couldn't win - I think this was then perceived to be as the players weren't experienced enough so Wilder changed some of the side that had got us promotion, in came Craddock, Worley, Maclaren, Maclean, Hall, Heslop it has taken time for it to gel - certainly our 5 game run of losses where a lot questioned Wilder's management caused a lot of trepidation. Not going to get carried away, we looked good yesterday, but Southen was poor so some work to do - but think we will push for play-offs

The 2nd half performance, come back and win at league leaders Chesterfield. It ended our run of 5 straight defeats. Gave us loadsa confidence and belief again. We've been a much more confident side since. And are really beginning to play some very good stuff.

Are there people still calling for 4-4-2?

The two Macs have made a difference, as has playing a more settled and confident team.
Also yesterday, the lack of hoofing from the centre backs, and especially from Clarke who seemed more willing to give the ball to the defenders to then play out from the back, made a big difference.

Good experienced players through the spine of the team.
Clarke, Wright, McClaren, McClean.

24 years old , 131 first team appearances. Not vastly experienced I admit, but hardly a novice either. Good player though and a vital part of our defence.

Are there people still calling for 4-4-2? Waste of time. We don't have the personnel at the club to play that system.

confidence,we seem as confident now as we were for the last 10 games last season,im hoping this is a good sign as this is the right time for pushing on, i have said that i would be happy with a mid table position this season but if we carry on playing like that we can finish higher. one game at a time though, consistent and oxford are not two words you usually put together
yet!

I think it all started with Maclean really. His first game against Rotherham he played great and was unlucky not to bag.. We have now on been scoring for fun, even though we've not been keeping the clean sheets, we've scored enough to win us the games. He doesn't score many either, but his positional awareness excellent and he drags defenders out and links up and creates.

I think playing Hall and Clist in the midfield is more important than anything.
Hall and Clist are good at picking up second balls and both were class v Brad

Settled side/formation with two macs linking the defence to the midfield and the midfield to the attack.

Maclen, Midson & Craddock have all got a good touch, so we don't have to punt it upfield and look for a knock on. These three will come short and receive the ball and we retain possession higher up the park. It was my first view of Maclaren, but he has added stability in front of the back four, the defence seem more comfortable playing the ball across the back line waiting for an opening rather then attempting the hopeful hoof.
Mind you Bradford did rather sit back after they scored and didn't try to pressurise our defence until we had the momentum.
