I think he has been absolutely exceptional lately. Wright gets all the plaudits and more often than not deservedly but as far as raw defending goes I think Worley matches him. Wright has that extra composure in possession but if you're talking just getting in blocks, crunching challenges and aerially then I think Worley is as good if not better than Wright.
Either way they are a phenomenal pairing and both young enough to possibly blossom into yet another legendary Oxford United centre back pairing.

Crazy how we can't keep a clean sheet as our defence looks sound. Especially on paper

Wilder was singing his praises on RadOx before the game. He's looking very good.
Raw defending is the right expression. He's only, what, 19?

One tackle halfway through the second half momentarily took me back about 25 years. Him and Wright have got that similar partnership to Briggs and Shotton in that Wright is always in a great position to mop up in the same way that Shotton would tidy up after a bone cruncher from Rambo.

Both have the ability to play one or two divisions higher. Hopefully they do it with us. Gilchrist and Elliott is another partnership, and they look quite similar as those two (from a distance).

I see Worley as a Darren Purse type player, great in the air, strong as an Ox and you wouldn't want to try it on with him ;D

Yes, Elliott and Gilchrist is probably a more accurate comparison. Either way its great when you get that right foot, left foot pairing and when there seems that almost telepathic understanding of eachothers positioning. Also these two are not just two lower league brutes, they can both use the ball to decent effect and will always look to pass it into feet rather than into row Z.

My only negative would be his distribution, but other than that he's a good player, and him and Wright are building an excellent partnership.

Wright's left peg looks more assured, yet he generally passes to Worley to play the long ball if nothing else is on.

Don't forget he's been at the highest level, that's bound to rub off.

Absolutely loving it here as well. One look at his Twitter page will show you how much he is enjoying being part of a winning side. He's not an idiot either. Doesn't say anything he shouldn't and generally keeps well away from Twitter after a bad result to let things cool off.

How can any defender be called exceptional and be called part of an potentially legendary OUFC centre back partnership when we haven't kept a clean sheet in 18 games?
I believe Worley is suspended for the Northampton game, if Sangare has a good game and we finally keep I clean sheet I think Worley may be out of the team for some time. That's my view anyway.

Looked a bit patchy for a few months after joining in the summer, but in the last 6 weeks or so he has been superb, very solid. Seems to have a close relationship with Wilder too, which bodes well.

I thought Worley's distribution today was as good as we have seen from him. Looking to play the ball into feet fat more than we have become accustomed too. Maybe its just coming with confidence
