From what i heard -Maclean said the contract had been agreed with Oxford -only he had 'one or two things' to sort out with Plymouth- presumably they owe him wages or such. In any case saying it was his last game for us is a little premature and knee jerk. He seemed happy to be playing for us and wanted to continue to do so. I hope your right and it sounds logical...

I'd say it was 50/50.
Don't understand why he wouldn't sign for us just because Plymouth haven't paid his salary as that's a separate issue.

Lets hope he stays but if he does go it seems likely CW would have his wage to pay another striker so anybody got any realistic suggestions who we might be able to attract ?
I think having seen the impact Mclean has made that we would have to look towards league 1 or even championship for his 'replacement'.

Maybe he's trying to get released so he can sign for someone who's actually going to pay him. Or maybe he just wants assurances that if he goes on loan he'll actually get the money that his new club (be it us or someone else) pay Plymouth.

Waving to the crowd after the game, even chucked his shirt into the crowd.... I'm told by a very very reliable source that the reason he chucked his shirt into the crowd was because it was ripped and would have to be replaced anyway so with the emotion after the game he threw it to the fans.

In his Yellow Player interview he says there is a "very good chance" he'll be back but "anything can happen in football".

Definitely wasn't ripped

Possibly, I'd have thought that if they can do it amicably then they'd rather do it that way though.

I know he's not being paid by Plymouth, but that doesn't mean we haven't agreed a salary and pay him. Thus meaning, the issue with Plymouth is separate. e.g. If he's happy with the deal we've offered, and Plymouth are happy to release him, then I see no problem.

Thank you for such an eloquent, thought out reply. Unfortunately it uses a lot of supposition (if he's happy, if Plymouth release him). Sounds like he's got a few things to sort out to me.

From "This is Plymouth":
Sounds like, as I suspected, that MacLean is trying to get out of his deal with Plymouth so he can sign permanently for someone else who might actually pay his wages (be that us or someone else).

Would we have the funds available to sign him on a more permanent deal though? Any possible deal at the moment between us and Plymouth will most likely be a loan. In Maclean's yellow player interview he doesn't really give much away and just says how he has enjoyed his time here a lot, and would love to be coming back, but he isn't too sure whats going on with plymouth.
