I really think we should try & re-sign him. He's still a quality player & he was our best player when we had that great team in late 2006.

Or have I just been whooooosed. For a minute I thought that was another name change by Moobs but as "the bright young thing" has halready posted I think you have been wooshed. At least I hope so as no one can believe that a player, who has slid down the football pyramid faster than Franz Klammer slid down the slopes, is quality.

I agree Radox Ken, Burgess's commitment to the game and the club was outstanding. He always gave 614 percent every game, and still dearly loves our club.
I mean often in a game you wouldn't even notice he was there, but those of us who knew better could see that his standing around looking uninterested was of course a mask that was vital for the teams performance. Often it wasn't what he did but what he didn't do that actually defined him.
Oh how we miss him.

A friend of a friend was coaching at Mansfield when Burgess was there. The coaching staff thought he had great ability (way above Conference standard), but dreadful attitude- and couldn't wait to ship him out. Shame really- he could have easily played at League One if he had applied himself.....

It does put a smile on my face the more I hear about his unfortunate footballing demise. Does he still write for one of the redtops about the joys of non league football? His unbiased thoughts about Oxford did make me lauugh.
