Just read that Malcolm Boyden is being moved to the mid morning spot on Radio Oxford. It's a blow for the club; his constant promotion of all things OUFC has been brilliant over the last few years and, while I am sure he will talk about us in his new slot, the mid morning slot will not have the impact/listener numbers that the morning show does.
Shame.
Lets hope the new chap is interested too.

Real shame this.I love listening to him in the car on the way to work.He did say this morning the new team will be doing all they can to involve the Yellows.
I wonder if the move is down to him being fed up with all of the early starts?
He has sounded a bit downbeat this week and hardly enthusing about the move and losing a flagship show.
Wonder if he's got too big for his boots and they've shoved him off it?

I listen to Nicky Campbell in the morning and Peter Allen in the evening. :-)

Boyden is a condescending knob whose show made my ears bleed whenever I had to listen out for Rad Ox's (often wrong) travel reports. His creepy, nasal Brummie accent gives me the shivers.
With you on Peter Allen though, Gav. He's happy when he's at his grumpiest.

But at the end of the day he is very listenable. He isn't grumpy though man, he is dry and ascerbic, yet strangely - oh god he is just on the radio when i go home and I listen to him.......

I think Malcolm Boyden is great and really funny too. He's an entertainer and he's done a great job with his 'I believe' campaign. Having said that, he's probably an acquired taste for some. I havent listened to Peter Allen, what station is he on? re Bill Heine; he's doing the Sunday morning (no-one is really listening) slot. I have to say that I can manage a bit of Radio Oxford during the day, but after that it's Radio 4

Like him or hate him, Boydon raised awareness of OUFC and got the whole area behind the club more than any other presenter on Rad Ox, other than the sports team!!

At least Malcolm Boyden was interested in football and tried to rally support for the local club where he worked even though he was a Baggies fan. The guy they have replaced him with is Phil Gayle and he keeps calling the station Radio Berkshire and doesn't seem to mention Oxford United much.

I turned on yesterday and lasted all of 5 minutes, I turned off when he managed to call the station Radio Berkshire on his first morning. Shan't bother again.
I will however listen to the radio god that is Jerome Sale.

That's just a mistake...he probably thought that he had been promoted like Andrew Peach

He is like Paxman, in that he won't allow an interviewee to evade the question. Try it out before you poo poo it though.
