he may well be a good player but he was only 17 i think when he came to us. His brief appearance at Burton suggested he wasn't quite ready for 1st team football yet.......
good luck to the lad though - when he captains England we can say he made his debut for us.........

GS you really think that 4 months has made that much of a difference?

GS you really think that 4 months has made that much of a difference? I doubt it - its probably a favour arranged by his old man to get the lad some more experience........

He started against Burton. He wasn't interested in league two football. Big time Charlie.

He started against Burton. He wasn't interested in league two football. Big time Charlie. Agreed you could see that he had only played reserve football expected time on the ball and never chased down the opposition.

He started against Burton. He wasn't interested in league two football. Big time Charlie. He only came on for the last 20 minutes or so in that game, and I can assure you he was nothing like a "big time Charlie". He was a really nice and humble kid who worked very, very hard. He just wasn't physically ready to handle league football. Given the amount of money Chelsea paid for him as a 15/16 year old I'd be amazed if he doesn't have some sort of professional career.

Not sure how people can put the kid down after seeing him for just 25mins. And we have no idea how he was as a person. He was a strange signing at the time Good luck to the lad.
