Rearrange our Cheltenham home game to Saturday Jan 29th. As Stevenage and Torquay are still in the cup, both us and Chelts are free that Saturday, and means we don't need to play them on the Tuesday night in March.

Great idea! The TVP may have something to say about that though, wasn't it put on a Tuesday night on purpose?

Great idea! The TVP may have something to say about that though, wasn't it put on a Tuesday night on purpose? What, because of the potential full scale rioting and conversion of the area immediately aroud the Kasstad into a warzone somewhat akin to downtown Nad-e-Ali on a friday night. Yeah on second thoughts, lets keep it as it is...

Possibly, but there are plenty of other L2 games on that Tuesday night. I expect there will be a police presence whenever it is played. Some perverse idea that we have a rivalry, just because of the Kettering snowed off coach day out incident.

I thought that whole thing was a bit of a myth that TVP had somehow cooked up to further denigrate Oxford fans. I think my warzone theory is more accurate. Didn't you see some of the Cheltenham fans wearing teatowels on their heads and waving RPGs at the away fixture, you could tell they were spoiling for a full on intifada!

No, no and thrice no.
I'm on a bleedin stag do in Cheltenham on the 29th so was going to have to miss the game. Oh the irony if the 'Nam game was rearranged for that day.

Cheltenham Town fixture has now been moved to Saturday 29th January. Good News Knowing what TVP are like, I'm surprised they allowed this!

Someone at the club must have looked at the costs, for the extra revenue for a Saturday match against police costs.

Seeing as "Hit squad smashed" or whatever the Oxford Mail headline was, evidently no danger of any trouble any more.
Shame for people who had arranged a Saturday off instead of watching a home game against Stevenage as the original fixture list intended, but that's life.
Still, I wonder how many Stevenage will now bring on a rearranged Tuesday? Whether they will even take 86 to Torquay for an FA Cup 4th round?

OK, so over toast and tea this morning I said to she who must be obeyed - 29th Jan is fine to go visit your Mum, our game has been postponed...so that will be me in the dog house when she comes home! However, an application and outbreak of commonsense is to be applauded. I am astonished, TVP overtime earnings must need boosting!
