I know we have have had an upturn in form, but the last 3 away games have been special.
Chesterfield were top of the league, and we came from a goal down to beat them playing good football.
Both turkey and aldersh*t are bogey teams for us, and in both games we looked a decent footballing side.
We play with more freedom and less pressure away from home, the away support is always first class.
It's a pity the same can't be said when we play at home.

I don't get to many away games, but the ones I do the atmosphere and "support" is great.
At home... there are some people who I guess are season ticket holders (same seat each week) who spend the whole game slagging off the team, manager, club etc.
Why go if you hate it that much?
One week it's Potter "Running down a blind alley again, useless idiot, cross it, blah blah blah" next week it's someone else "Craddock, you useless muppet, get him off Wilder".
Why spend £300/£400 on a season ticket if you don't want to support the team?

We do need to improve at home, we're too much of a soft touch at the Kassam.

Two of my mates generally only get to home games, and can't believe that the team they see at the Kasstad can get points on the road. These were three storming away wins, as you say, top of the league Chesterfield from a goal behind, and the next two with goals in the last few minutes for us. Proud to be an Oxford fan, particularly away. Our fans are noisier, the players and management seem to enjoy and appreciate it more too.

The away support for most clubs will be more vocal than home games, the "singing contingent" of our travelling army tend to sit or stand together at away games and there seems to be more of a "DUTY" to give that little bit extra for the team because we are in someone else's back yard, supporters at home games are mixed all over the place and more fans need to join in to generate more noise because of the size of our stands. the players are no exception to this, they again will do things differently at away games, and the managment will set up a slightly different mind set. if we had achieved draws in the last 3 away games we would have been more than satisfied with the outcome, however expectations at our home games are over the top and our "SUPPORTERS THAT ONLY GO TO HOME GAMES" are very very demanding and in some cases rightly so, but as soon as we are 2nd favourites to win a game we show our true battling qualites and put up a professional performance.... As i have said before CONSISTANCY brings success Win your home games and keep picking up points away is the recipe for promotion, we at present are winning away and picking up points at home, get the home form sorted and we could be quite a force in the 2nd half of the season....

Wasn't at Aldershot yesturday, but travelled to Torquay on monday, our fans were first class down there, and the atmosphere was pretty decent. Thats two excellent wins away from home now, and got rid of our bad records against Torquay and Aldershot, very very impressed and hopefully we can build on this last week, and get a bit of good form going now starting with beating Bradford next weekend!
2 points off of the Play-Off positions in our first season back in the league is very respectable!

Our players seem intimidated sometimes at home. When the whole team doesn't turn up, eg Southend, we have a problem.

Why spend £300/£400 on a season ticket if you don't want to support the team? It's still cheaper than therapy! We need a decent song to mock the moaners me thinks.

Do you honestly think a footballer at any level doesn't know when he plays a bad pass or makes a mistake?

Do you honestly think a footballer at any level doesn't know when he plays a bad pass or makes a mistake? Exactly. Booing the team and bitching constantly will not help them to play better. Sadly we seem to have a large constituancy of moaning b*stards who, even if they do have season tickets, i would rather didn't bother.

The only song that I know of that's a sort of 'middle finger to the booers' is "Sing your hearts out for the Lads!"
That never picks up either as all the booers disagree with the logic!

As Paul Weller so perfectly said "sing you little f@*kers, sing like you got no choice" massive game on sat just hope everyone is loud and behind the team. Not loud and getting at the team which seems to be the predominant theme at home at the moment.

Preferred away games by miles this season. At home there can sometimes be a bit of apathy.

How the hell booing players during the match is going to make them perform better is beyond me!

If we take the lead then we should sing something like "that shut the moaners up, that shut the moaners up"

Preferred away games by miles this season. At home there can sometimes be a bit of apathy. I've always preferred aways. To be fair i don't get to many home games but the atmosphere at the kassam, for someone used to away games is shocking. Even the compartively small numbers we have taken to some away games have been more loyal, louder and more unflinching in their backing than the kasstad with an above average attendance.
