I am not one of the Midson lovers but i do like him and always think he gives 100%. I get the impression that he he will not be given the same amount of games to prove himself as others. I don't see him starting next week as i think unless he scores in every game he plays he won't get a run in the team.

The 'natural' pecking order has to be:
Constable, Maclean, Craddock, Potter, Midson & Green (possibly)
We have too many forwards - some bodies may have to leave the football club.

If bodies have to leave surely those bodies should be green and Mclean if his wage demands are indeed as high as has been claimed. There's no point spending beyond our means and shafting midson into the bargain just to bring Maclean in. Is there?

I like Midson but I'd like him more if he won the odd header. Constable a clear difference when he came on.

Anyone else Today think it looked like a farewell from Midson at the end. Why on earth would you thnk that? He has always been an enthusiastic applauder of the fans when we win. That's all he was doing today.

I'm a Midson fan - I admit it. Because, most of the time when he plays we look to have another dimension. The hatrick vs Torquay was excellent for Jack Midson, Wilder and the fans that day, but more importantly (and I really believe this) we won again with Midson leading the line.
I agree that Constable is the main man at OUFC because of his scoring record, but I urge others to take a closer look at Jack and re asses what he does for the TEAM. He hasn't got the aggression of Beano, the pace of Green, or the mazey dribbling skills of Potter, but when Jack plays the ball sticks - not every time but most of the time.
Jack is good value for money.

I'd keep Midson over Maclean. And Craddock looks class.

I can see Green going out on loan leaving the others to fight for the places and make an impact off the bench.

Anyone else Today think it looked like a farewell from Midson at the end. I think JM really appreciates the time he gets on the pitch, and that the fans have stuck by him even when the manager hasn't. I didn't interpret it as any goodbye, just his usual thank you to the fans - like at Cheltenham after the whistle, Torquay etc. (I do wonder if we overdo it a bit, there was a home game when I think Craddock came on, and the fans were calling for Midson even though he was at Southend. Craddock is the forgotten man, but has two goals in two games).

We are a better team when he is in it, FACT!

Thanks, just struck me as a bit OTT, I think he gives us something different up front, I would say all the strikers have different attributes and can add something to the game, just as long as they don't forget the most important thing, putting the ball in the net.

I'd keep Midson over Maclean. And Craddock looks class. In a 4 3 3 you've got to have a player like Maclean who brings the others into play. Jack does this too, but he's not as cute in the box. Maclean is more aware.
