My late Grandad used to play for Headington (both cricket and football) and took me to a match whenever we visited. He always seemed to be able to get free tickets somehow!

I could have gone with the family option or the locality option in the poll as both are true. My dad (who wasn't an Oxford fan at the time) took me to see Oxford when I was a kid and just getting into football because they were our local club and we just kept going after that.

My primary school got given free tickets to a game so I went with them and then I started going on the soccer courses and you got tickets with those so I started going to those games with my dad who wasn't an Oxford fan before hand and we both got hooked and got season tickets.

I'd class that as 'family'.
Even though we aren't the most successful club. I've never had such a passion in my life. *yet*

Looks like "Dads" have a lot to answer for. Well it's my dad's fault that I'm here.

Just went to the first game (A 2-0 home loss to Brentford) as it was the closest professional football team to Abingdon. Would have been easier to support Liverpool or Manc United, but couldn't get up North easily.

December 1979 vs Hull City. Just moved down from Yorkshire and my mate's dad took me. 30 years or so later, I'm still here!

An uncle (Perce Cooper) who was a director of Headington United. Both parents who were fanatical followers of Headington and followed them all over the country in their motorbike and sidecar (me and me bro in the sidecar!). Earliest memory was being told off for making a snowman on the pitch that had just been manually cleared to get a match on!
I never had a chance really!

My dad took me to see a game against Brighton (he's a Seagulls fan) and the seed was sown. Numerous games later and a trip up to Sheffield Wednesday with the young supporters club and that was that.

My Grandad had been going on his own since the Headington United days. Took me in desperation after a failed attempt with my cousin "all he wanted to do was eat ice-cream!" and we never looked back. Season tickets for years even when I was away at college. I came back religiously every other week to be collected by him at Oxford train station and got back on the train after the match. He would be so happy I have passed on the bug to my children even though we live away from the area.

Never until now have I thought about how selfless some people are really. Thanks

My dad took me and my older brother to the Oxford United soccer courses during the summer '98 at Temple Cowley Middle School. I must have been seven at the time as 'ratatoille' mention you got tickets.
I remember my first game was against Wolves in the old division one. Our older, older brother who supports Forest took us; not my dad as he doesn't like football. I don't really remember the match, just walking up to the Manor down Osler Road seeing the green bowls pitch. The only thing I remember while in the ground was taking my seat and seeing Wolfie (Wolves mascot) being a cheeky bugger who was squirting water at us!
Since then been to a few Forest games including matches against: Oxford, Redding, Scumdon, and various international games at all levels. Gradually went to more and more Oxford games when yellows moved to Kassam as it was closer and eventually got a season ticket this season.
