Well they can offer what incentive they like. I would'nt be seen dead in a Wycombe shirt, and I certainly would'nt watch any of thier reserve games, unless it was against Oxford!

3 guests for free throughout the season is basically "buy 1 get 3 free".
That can't be right surely?

WWFC Bring three guests to Adams Park for FREE throughout the season OUFC does offer ST benefits throughout the year normally doesnt it? Like bring someone for half price? WWFC Refer a friend and receive a home shirt signed by your chosen player Cant really afford that. If it means the friend referrred to is buying a ST (for the first time), then it more than pays for itself to give a shirt away for free. No, we do a one off only 10% purchase with a voucher. No, ours is not 0% So now we have a reserve team are we giving free entry to ST holders? The club do give out free fixture cards, even if a ferw do change later in the season. Personally, our membership scheme has no interest to me for £30. 1. I never said it was 0% - I said it wasnt that much - meaning that its hardly a huge amount extra. 2. Do we give do our fixture cards 'credit card' style? No. 3. But that friend is more than likely to be buying a ST anyway. This is because there is no incentive for the friend to its hardly likely to make him buy one if he wasnt going to. More people would take the piss and refer friends who were already going to to buy season tickets - thus meaning a loss. It might generate 50 new ST Holders but would also mean 1000 were refering people who would have got one anyway, representing a loss. unlimited 10% discounts is all good and well except our shop is run by Justsports. Who gives a toss about paying a couple of quid for reserves. And thats your opinion about the membership card. It aboviously appeals to some or they wouldnt run it would they. Cheers smarty pants.

I understand the argument that if we incentivised the sale of season ticket more would be sold, however this is not the question we should be asking. The question is all about revenue and maximising it. If we reduced season tickets by 50% but sold 10k then this would increase the net revenue, however I do not think we would sell 10k irrespective of the price.
So it boils down to one persons view over another’s.
How many do people think we could sell if incentivised to the max? Don’t forget selling season tickets to fans that would come to most games in any case but at a much lower rate would clearly have a negative effect on the club. The other point here is if we owned the stadium more bums on seats would equal more confectionary revenue but as we do not this revenue is not seem by OUFC.
I think until we get up to league one or maybe even into the Championship I cannot see us selling more than 5K season tickets at any price.

This may be true that you get all of those incentives but you still have to watch blood Wycombe. Let’s be honest you have to market what product you have and I believe our product is a hell of lot better than theirs. So no I don’t feel as though we have to do more. Thats kind of my point. As we have a product that is better than many other teams, surely we should be trying to maximise the chances of more people coming to watch Oxford United, not just sitting back and accepting we have enough fans who are willing to put money into the club At our level I dont think it really matters what you give the fans, they are either going to be ST holders or they wont be. Thats just helping the current ST holders if you ask me. All the people that want to be ST holders already are ST holders. For the club to be as succesful as some of us hope, it has to be run as a business. The customers are in the high majority satisfied with the product offered, so why change it? T he people that arent buying a ST because it doesnt offer enough are probably buying tickets on the gate, and probably spend similar amounts of money to the price of a ST, minus the benefits (eg. say a ST with all those offers added brings in 240 rather than 300 (for arugements sake), the club will be getting around 240 in on the day money from the fans who would take advantage.) In the end, it might attract a few more ST holders - but only ones who were paying on the gate for most of the season - so I couldnt see it benefiting the club financially.

I think until we get up to league one or maybe even into the Championship I cannot see us selling more than 5K season tickets at any price. Precisely. The fans that have bought season tickets this year will have most likely been paying for their tickets on the gate last season - so I doubt we will see a huge rise in gates, as the new ST in the main part will have been attending last year. I think all it will means is a higher ratio of ST holders to non ST holders in a 6000 crowd. Which is why I cant see extra benefits helping the club - as its the same people that would buy ST's that were already coming through the gates, and if anything contributing more income to the club.

Season ticket sale aren't everything.
I nearly bought one but in the end I didn't. I will probably end up spending as much "at the gate" though.
