If anyone doesn't want YellowPlayer, but wants to listen to ANY game on BBC online. There is a way to get around the restriction. Firefox & Greasemonkey. I always use firefox and heres the link - addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748/It basically hides your IP address when you want it to, which is to listen to BBC and yeah. You can get away with it. Hope I helped, (I saw it on LCFC Forum haha)

Yeah, just downloaded it to see if it works. I have NO CLUE on what to do with it. Seeing as i'm an ST and I live in Oxfordshire & I have YellowPlayer I don't need this. So someone else can help work it out

I don't think it's a question of cheating OUFC out of money--the restriction of listening is imposed by the league, not OUFC. It's a separate issue about whether people want to help the club by paying for Yellow World even if they don't use it (much). I've been paying for it, rarely using it thanks to RadOx...but still would like to know how the add-on works in FireFox. OK, I used the link, and can see how to download the add-on, but don't understand how it allows you to "sometimes" hide your IP address. Most of the time I don't want my address hidden, though I might want to do so if trying to get to listen to various games on the BBC that I can't listen to at the moment because of overseas restrictions. Annoyingly, I live in Warwickshire so just about miss out on the radio signal. I will try this when I get a chance, although i plan to be at most games this season!

According to the article promoting Yellow Player on the official site OUFC get all of the fee (£35 or monthly fee). If exiles want to contribute it seems a good way to do it whilst getting something back. Also, does Yellow Player show extended highlights as well or just the goals like BBC Oxford?
I do understand though that some may not be able to afford it and that in the past it was a bit hit and miss in terms of service quality (hopefully that has changed as PTV have had the time!).

Up till now it's just a repeat of whatever the relevant TV channel puts out. I shouldn't think it will be any different this season.

I thought that next season matches won't be broadcast online by the BBC at all, just through Yellow Player. Those in Oxfordshire will obviously still be able to listen using the radio, but disguising your IP address won't make a difference to iPlayer as it's not being broadcast at all. Or is that wrong?

It's all a bit of a con really. Yellow Player is not a live broadcast - there is a 2 or 3 minute time delay.
Last season goals were being printed on the NLNP video printer before they were broadcast by Yellow Player which caused me to cancel it. Reluctantly I have rejoined since I will no longer be able to receive Radio Oxford commentary on the internet.
If you are unable to receive Radox over the air waves the quickest way to get news of the goals is on a 'match thread' somewhere.
And the 'highlight' clips are abysmal.

I have signed up for Yellow Player as living in Australia I always listen to Radio Oxford on-line. Will Yellow player have the after match reactions from the Radio Ox team plus the phone in,as that is also something I enjoy listening too as an exile.

I've never used it but i'm pretty sure its not unfortunately. Away games, I COULD record it if any people wanted me to though.

Unfortunately not, it normally finishes at 5pm UK time. But by that time Radox online should have turned its attention to the football. It is only broadcasting the match commentary that is banned. Not the hype surrounding it.
