Couldnt make it yesterday but my dad came back, saying it was one of the best looking Oxford teams in a while. He has no hesistation that we will at least be in the top 10 and probably have a shot at the play offs.
Based on yesterday is he correct?

Hard to tell in pre season. As friendlies mean nothing. First half. we were outplayed with ease. Second half, looked tighter at back and dangerous going forward. Deserved goal, and maybe should have won in end. Played better football. Reason to be hopeful. But not carried away.

The game was a bit similar to the QPR friendly last year, at times we were outplayed but in the second half looked impressive.

First half we played much too narrow and gave the Leicester wide men far too much room, though the defence did well. In the second hald we played much wider and with more aggression and basically gave leicester more than enough to worry about.

I could not go to the match yesterday either.
My Dad went and he gave me his verdict today on United.
He felt Beano was too isolated first half and that we sat off too much especially first the first 30 minutes against a good side who had good pace with Dyer, quality in midfield with Richie Wellens and two young excellent centre halves in Jack Hobbs and Michael Morrison (formerly with Lincoln and Cambridge I might add)
Second half Oxford improved considerably and deserved their draw with excellent performances in particular from Tonks and Batt and he was impressed with Hezza and Asa Hall. Mitchell Cole is quick!
The consensus is that the team is organised, enthused and energetic with everyone knowing their roles and understanding the shape we play.

Asa Hall and Tonkin was outstanding yesterday.

I don't like the 4-3-3 system we seem to play. A real lack of width at times and Beano is too isolated.
Apart from the goal did we have another shot on target?

I though Batt man, Bully and Hall were outstanding especially in the second half. Franks was also impressed when he came on. On the whole a positive performance against a potentially challenging championship team. Although they looked completely different second half than the first.
