Not sure if there will be a need for this thread but oh well! Away 95/96 (Football League Trophy 1st round)www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZQte5LVTjYDate: 07/11/95 Venue: Underhill Attendance: 1072 Result: Won 3-2 Oxford travelled to Barnet, a league below in the Third Division, for the Auto Windscreens Shield match, which drew a paltry attendance of 1072, one of the lowest to have watched an Oxford match in recent times. Neither side did much in the first half, with the deadlock finally being broken in the second half with one of Barnet's defenders knocking the ball past his helpless keeper. However, we failed to capitalise and Barnet equalised through a scrappy goal after the Oxford defence failed to deal with a corner. The lead was restored via a simple route one ball which fell into the path of Matt Murphy - the Barnet defence parted and Murphy's shot travelled unobstructed into the net. Paul Moody scored a cracking free kick to seal the result, before Barnet pulled a late goal back, but it was just a consolation. The win set up a second round tie at home to Colchester.
