Just moved house and I want to commute to work. I want to take up cycling as a hobby also but don't want to splash out on an expensive new bike only to find its not something I keep up with.
Is there anybody out there with an old road/touring bike that they are selling/have stuffed away in a garage?
I'm 6'3 if that helps.
Any advice on where to get a cheap one is welcome. (i don't care if its 30 years old if it works)
thanks

I picked up an old peuguot from eBay for 60quid! I'll see how I get on with that first, are you selling then?

No not selling. Was just going to suggst a couple of places to look, depending on your budget.
Have fun with the Peugeot!

You are quite tall so you probably need a 19" frame. I would go for a Marin, might cost a little extra but is well worth it in the long run.

Ignore teh cheltenham advice on bike size; i'm 6'4" and currently ride an xl size GT and prior to that a 22" frame.
I'd recommend free papers or local press or 2nd hand from bike shops (esp independents). There should be loads arounds.
