It was when they started limiting 50cc bikes to around 30 mph that the moped craze started to fade. Me and my mates always used to bomb around Kidlington on our bikes, including 2 or 3 FSEs, in around '76 or so. (I had a Puch, which wasn't as naff as it sounds.)

there were still fizzies about though, granted if you could afford a decent bike then it would have been an AR or a DT or something. but the series isn't really about privileged kids is it. mind you, they were a bit shiney, seem to remember all the fizzies in 86 were right sheds, held together with tape mostly

Fantic Caballero was my bike when aged 16 in '81. 55mph downhill with the wind behind me.. Missed the programme as at work, love most of Shane Meadows stuff but not that keen on the This Is England film.

I liked the This is England film(especially the soundtrack) but really thought the first episode of this new one was quite rubbish, hopefully it will get better................ this is what my fizzy looked like filed the ports and got 58mph out of it the restricted ones came in about 1979 and no way would many have them in 86...sack the researcher

Gave up watching it, terrible IMO as the man says casuals on bikes WTF you'd ruin your trainers, Thought this (and the earlier film) had the look of a youth theatre production for under privileged 'youth' (they can't act, but it keeps them out of the courts) type thing

The music at hte end of the Second ep was quality. Guessing Ludovico Einaudi. They used him for music in the first one.
