Need to channel off some anger and have a bit of a rant.
Ive been playing PES on xbox live for a few years, on the 2009 version i managed to get into the top 250 online players in europe, mostly because my dodgy cypriot internet connection helped me out a lot.
Now im in France and my internet conx is great, so bring it on...and thats where this story turns sour. There is no OUFC in pes so i play with England, sorry i cant play with a team that i have no affinity for unlike just about everyone else who play with either, Barca fookin lona, Real bloody madrid, or Arrrrghentina. Im fed up of having Messi, Ibrah im so big that i will blunder my way through every tackle and score imovic, Rondildo and Aguero ( god i hate that guy ) run rings around my England team that have the collective speed of a 3 legged hedgehog, what were Konami thinking when they decided to give Gerrard the acceleration of a tree and a first touch of a brick wall ? Lampard while not the fastest player in the world is surely able to get up to a speed faster than walking pace, im sure in real life he does not spend his time on the pitch watching the ball go past him while he feebly sticks out a leg once in a while in the hope of one day connecting with the grail. The list goes on...and before i forget an honourable mention to the goalkeepers, ok in reality they aint much cop, but the keeper errors in pes are so tragic they can make a grown man weep. England were shit during the world cup, but we CAN play great football and therefore i should be able to get this team to do something decent.
Ive been a big fan of pes for a few years but now im thinking that konami must have made some deal with Barca and RM to make them unbeatable, a neat way of conning impresionable consumers into supporting those 2 btw, even the top 4 of the Prem can`t compete against them and thats not realistic.
Fifa is not an option, im in too deep with pes, just like i am with oufc.

Been a PES fan since forever, but Fifa 09 and 10 beat PES 09/10 hands down. Tides have changed.

PES is a joke. I got a PES fan over to FIFA this year.
Oxford in 2011. But of course you'd rather play as England than Oxford.

Both have their major floors in them. Some of the glitches in FIFA are unbelievable, especially with keepers and defenders. A shame they can't take the best parts of both games.

PES has been terrible since the changeover to the next gen consoles. Fifa is better in every way and has the licence as its USP.
Konami have changed in recent years and alot of staff and moved on to other projects so it's understandable that it's not the PES that we used to love and remember. The master league is dated and bland and the gameplay is dull along with the poor AI.
PES has stunning graphics though which is the only thing missing from Fifa.

I'm (like someone said before) "in to deep" with pes, i can never see myslf buying FIFA, pro evo need to pull there finger out before I stop buying there game. The last few games have been way below par. They have lost there edge and need to regain there advantage with this years game.

The rumour mill has it that pes 2011 coming out in October is a great improvement on the recent efforts, remains to be seen. My main gripe is the inequality of the teams with the 3 mentioned above seemingly all on coke while the rest seem to be on the wacky baccy, fingers crossed its a more even playing field next time around.

Surely you meant he'd prefer to play as England online as they are far superior quality-wise and it would be silly to play as Oxford if you actually wanted to win against Barca and Real Madrid regularly.

Your not wrong Dan, playing with Oxford online would be pointless, would be nice if you could get a league going with teams of similar ability though.

It depends how you play the games. If you play online, then yes FIFA does the job better, but just playing against mates PES is STILL a way better game. A few of us really rtried to like FIFA this year, but after a few weeks went back to PES.
Think it also depends what you play on - I play on PC for which FIFA is awful, it may be better on other formats.
As for the original point - Gerrard having the first touch of a brick wall is pretty true to life surely? But I agree the speed of players varies too much, with someone like Ronaldo or Messi you can just fly past everyone.

I played FIFA for the first time last night. Barcelona lost to Accrington Stanley - despite going down to 10 men after 15 minutes played. A tight 7-2 win for Stanners.
