I agree that it's not good. However I notice that it's not that anyone agreed to throw a match or anything. Just make some illegal money on the precise time a no ball would be bowled.
Not right by any means, but not the worst of crimes.

Not right by any means, but not the worst of crimes. That's the alleged crime that we know of. What more could there be that we haven't heard of? Could a couple of players agreed to get out early/drop a catch/bowl poorly? Unfortunately even if it is something seemingly trivial like a couple of no-balls a game, it still brings the sport in to disrepute and destroys a lot of the trust fans should have in the players.

Very bad news for the game of cricket. What surprises me though is that the two bowlers at the centre of the controversy are Mohammed Asif, who's one of the best bowlers in the world and 18 year old Mohammed Amir who is a teenage prodigy. It baffles me that they would be stupid enough to risk a lifetime ban. Surely playing Test cricket can't be that badly paid can it?
Then again Hansie Cronje did it.

This Mohammad Asif? news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/6061394.stmHe's also banned from Saudi Arabia for drug offences, so hardly surprising he is trying to make money on the side. He should be banned for life if this is true. It's a shame that it's happened, but hardly a shocker when there muttering of this on Oz last year and other mutterings over the past few months. It seems like its just part of the culture in Asia. The news of the world did a good job of stitching them up as well, it'll be hard for this to go away any time soon.

It makes watching any match involving Pakistan worthless. How can you be sure when there is a dropped catch or an extra that there isn't something dodgy going on. Life bans, and I mean life, are the answer. If the game has to lose an outstanding young Pakistani cricketer then so be it. The whole reputation of cricket is at stake here and that is far more important than any individual, regardless of how talented he is or might become.

typical pakis....worship ££££££££££ ...... never trust one Match fixing of this kind (if true) is sadly symptomatic of the endemic problem of greed, this of course knows no cultural boundaries. Your comments however, are representative of that human condition characterized by stupidity and vile loathing, racism. Sadly this too knows know boundaries. One suspects that this is reflected in your political leaning, and there of course lies salvation. With the implosion of the extreme right we can look forward to your spontaneous self combustion. In the meantime, go fu ck yourself you arrogant little c unt

Deserve to be banned from World Cricket as it is looking likely that this is far more serious than initially feared. We know of the recent Test match with the no balls, claims about the first test and now the Australia versus Pakistan match earlier this year.
Then.....how many more matches.
How can four players keep this from the rest of their side? Leads the question if anymore were in on it?
The most impressive thing from this is the reaction from the people of Pakistan. They worship their cricket and they are deplored by these revelations. Asif, But and the others will find it difficult to face their own people when they eventually have the guts to go home to face the music!

sad thing is that Broad has hit the innings of his life and all the test will ever be remembered for is 'fixing'. The Pakistani team have been shrowded in controversy for years with rumours of in fighting and corruption...... and now it rears its ugly head again. Does Salmun Butt not get that to lead your country is one of the greatest honours that can ever be bestoed??? Pakistani cricket fans are some of the most loyal and passionate and it must be a kick in the teeth to have this thrown at them. imagine the disgust and shame if these charges were levelled at an england player??Life bans for all of them and a trip back to their homeland to see the misery that they are facing with the floods..... then ask them if they think chucking a couple of no balls down was worth it....
