Play just started. England 18 for 0.
Not sure how much play today as rain at Lords forecast on and off.

22-0, from Cricinfo sounds like we have had a few near misses (and one dolly of a drop in the slips already). I would have been much happier had we not been batting, must admit!

Today weather is overcast and rain, but improving on Friday and Saturday. Probably why Pakistan are fielding.

Strauss said he'd have bowled if he had won the toss. Nassa on commentary said that the toss has actually equalled the teams very difficult to call a winner now. Clearly bowling has given the Pakistanis the first advantage.

I hope this won't signal a total collapse. Important toss to lose this one.

Perhaps Bad light has come to England's aid.

Perhaps Bad light has come to England's aid. I think the forecast for the weekend looks pretty good.

Perhaps Bad light has come to England's aid. I think the forecast for the weekend looks pretty good. Meant today. Ball is swinging unpredictably in today's conditions. And England only need to draw to win the series.

We shouldn't even be worrying about Pakistan levelling the series. They are the worst side in donkeys years yet our woefully out of form batsmen and our poor captain have placed us in this position...

I wouldn't call Strauss a bad captain (can't be that bad if you play for Middx ) but he did make a bit of a hash of the last test, especially the field settings when they were 9 down in the first innings, dropping the field back giving the single etc and bringing on Finn instead of Swann. Apart from that? Not done a bad job for me.

Very harsh. Won 6 of the last 7. 6 of the last 7! oh p-lease! how many against Bangladesh? and the worst Pakistan side in their history! The guy is tactically naive and it will show against the Aussies in the winter mark my words...

Very harsh. Won 6 of the last 7. That isn't correct though, Strauss has the record of 4 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats in his last 7 tests. He didn't go to Bangladesh remember, Cook was captain for those 2 wins.

Damn, Cook gone second ball. Going to be a long long day today I feel. England all out for 150 by tea? Don't forget England win the series if they can draw this match. Agree a long day though.
