Was it on the news in the UK? Here in HK, people are furious over it, the Police's handling of the situation.
Basically 8 HK tourists died in hostage situation on a coach in Manila

It was on tv and big in the newspapers here in Holland. Big cock-up there by the police.

What is really getting the people here is pictures taken by the Police of Police in front of the bullet ridden bus with smiles and holding their guns like they are Rambo! Disgusting

Hey HK
In the final few hours CNN had continuous coverage, BBC and Sky News went back to the live pictures every so often.

Philippines is a great place, but corruption is rife, you get done if you bribe or accept bribes, and you also get done if you dont bribe people.
It was like watching Police Squad when they attempted to storm the bus!
150,000 Filipino's live here in HK, they are all shit scared now!

Basically 8 HK tourists died in hostage situation on a coach in Manila The police have made themselves look really stupid as is been given an awful lot of coverage both via the national news and the Internet. It does not look as though they really care what the outside world think. That is until they need global support over one issue or another.
