I saw Dylan Moran @ The Glee Club in Birmingham last night and he was a lot better than I was expecting. I'm also going to see Rich Hall later in the year. Made me think about the best and worst comedians I've seen live - the best, probably Jack Dee at his 'height' in the early 1990s, worst was probably Ben Elton, whould I thought was terrible - closely followed by Newman & Baddiel. That's you that is

My favourite was Rich Hall who did half his show as country singer Otis Something-or-other. Next best was Jack Dee.
Also enjoyed Bill Bailey, Jeremy Hardy, ED Byrne, Sean Lock and Andy Parsons.
Most disappointing were Omid Djalili and Jo Brand - one trick ponies and Brand only did an hour.
Would love to see Michael McIntyre, Frankie Boyle and Peter Kay.

Favourites are Michael McIntyre, Frankie Boyle, Russell Howard, Jimmy Carr. I'm off to see Jason Manford next February on tour - looking forward to that.
Ones that I don't find particularly funny are Russell Brand, Omad Djalili, Ricky Gervais.

This year been to see Ricky Gervais, Dara O'Briain and Ed Byrne (Although think he might have been back end of last year).
Ricky Gervais was simply not funny. Ran his course, and nothing new or inspiring about him. Made it clear this was simply a warm up act before he was off to the bigger venues like Wembley and then the States. Waste of money.
Dara O'Briain, probably one of the most naturally funny comedians there are. Nothing harsh or patronising about him. Simple life observations that are very funny, and the detail he goes into is unparalleled. Never heard an audiance laugh so much so regularly.
Ed Byrne, I found him very funny. My sense of humour, and still struggling to break it into the Big Time.
Got tickets to see Stephen K. Amos and JIM JEFFRIES who still to this day made me laugh the hardest out of any comedians I have seen. Legend of a man with a simple philosphy on life. Pure genius.
Michael McIntyre and Peter Kay can both go f**k themselves.

Mark Steele was good.
Also, very surprisingly, so was Mark Lamarr. Was nearly 20 years ago mind. Lordy.
Steve Coogan was better than I expected. As was Billy Conolly.

I never tire of Jimmy Carr's material.
Peter Kay is probably the most overrated person in his profession in the entire world. For all that he produces and all the hype; I just don't find him funny one bit.

Dara O'Briain and Rich Hall both made me laugh so hard it hurt.
Very much enjoyed the likes of Tim Minchin, Boothby Graffoe and Jason Byrne as well.
Saw 15 minutes of Frankie Boyle - reckon that was probably enough. Funny moments, but there's only so far you can string out being dour and offensive.....
Worst I ever saw (and I lived in Edinburgh for three years so saw plenty of crap comedy) was Hattie Hayridge. Never laughed once in 60 minutes. Turns out people who are in funny sitcoms aren't always funny themselves. Who knew?

Bernard Manning, Jethro, Stan Boardman, Roy 'Chubby' Brown.
Got to think of some bad ones now.
But I do like Ted Chippington. Very dry sense of humour.

I don't find Dara O'Briain funny, I find his 'cheeky Irishman' act completely tedious *Yawn*
