Advance tickets now on sale:- from Oxford: from £16.50 one way (total £33) from London: from £12.00 single, probably £16 back after 6pm, total £28. (there is a cheaper train leaving at 17:55, but doesn't leave much time to get from ground to the station) from Guildford: from £19 single, probably £19 back after 6pm, total £38
East Midlands trains have no booking fee, but don't allocate seats on the London trains. Thetrainline have £1 booking fee, but can preallocate seats.

There's no doubt about it - travelling to away games by train (especially long trips) is the way to go if you can get a good deal.
I remember going to York and Burnley to watch United by train with my mates and having a great time.

What are the prices from Didcot mate? Split the journey as a £5 off-peak return Didcot to Oxford, and pre-book the advance singles from Oxford to Macclesfield as above. Total £38. Otherwise the two singles are £20.50 each (Didcot to Macclesfield). Total £41. Looks like there is a direct train from Oxford to Macclesfield too, so even easier.

Hmm tempting. I shall join the football special at Leamington Spa if I don't get a lift. What is the designated coach for us yellows?

Cross country train from Bournemouth / Reading. Also stops at Stockport for that away game, and you can change at Stoke-on-Trent for the Crewe game.
