Still a long way to go but we could have a 2 horse title race already. Man U and Arsenal won, Man City lost at Villa meaning Arsenal are 1 point ahead of City with a game in hand. The fact Arsenal are potentially 4 points in front of City and they have already played eachother twice, and City have to go to Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, I fail to see how City can keep up with Arsenal, unless Arsenal capitulate which won't happen now they have a fully fit squad and van Persie is smashing them in.

United 5 points clear if they win their game in hand and still unbeaten.
Lets be honest, it's no race at all! ;-)

5 points if they win their game in hand.
Look at the calendar. It's January - not April.

Lets be honest, it's no race at all! ;-) It's an away (Blackpool) match so the form book says a draw, if we assume a 3 point lead and take into account Chelsea still to play home and away, it's all to play for. If Arsenal beat Man U at the Emirates they'd be in pole position. City need the top 2 to drop points and I can't see it. 3rd at best for them, which is still a good acheivement.

If, if, if, if, if, if, if...............
Look at the table. Arsenal are relying on a team who don't look like conceding a goal let alone lose a game all of a suddenly imploding and all this optimism is based on the barmy notion that a team that f**ks up against two promoted sides, two championship sides and two European pub teams will of a sudden win every game !
It's too ridiculous for words. Just remember, given the goal difference, Man U can afford two defeats. Arsenal can barely afford a draw let alone a loss.
Dream on.

Yes, baldy it's a one horse race.
Man United are (potentially) 5 points clear in January with only 16 games left.
Might as well call it a day.

No one is saying it's cut and dried, I am just adding some realistic balance to the crazy thinking of Moobs. He is relying on a sudden implosion from a team on a 30 game unbeaten run and, more unlikely, that Arsenal will just carry on winning. City and Chelsea are both better equipped than Arsenal to go the distance and they are still the two who the majority of Man U fans will keep an eye on. Arsenal are a threat, of course, but just don't possess the backbone to see it through. Even the most ardent of Arsenal fans will admit that they're a team built on sand.

With king Kenny in charge Liverpool are surely a threat now too?

Now Baldy, i'm not saying Man U will implode but look at the facts, you even said yourself that Chelsea are still a threat but are you also assuming you'll take 6 points off them? Arsenal have got both fixtures against them out of the way. And noisy neighbours City will come for point like they did against Arsenal.
Also Arsenal have to play Man Utd at the Emirates which for me is the title decider. If Man U win, THEN they will need Man Utd to implode. With that said I think Man Utd will win the title IF they beat Arsenal.
As much as you'd like to think Arsenal are pushovers, I totally disagree, this is the best Arsenal side for 6 years, better than the team that got to the Champions League Final, in previous seasons they have been dogged by injuries and with a threadbare squad it's no wonder they have not lasted the pace. This season it's different

This season it's different Football does not work like that. You are assuming that Arsenal will beat average teams, home and away. Chances are Man U, if they are to be beaten, will probably fold at somewhere like Wigan or Blackburn. This season, more than any other, has thrown up some bizarre results and I just dont think you can be like you and have a little list of Arsenals fixtures and just see the big games as the deciders. I've said it a millions times before - titles are won at your West Broms, Wigans and Blackburns. In almost every title winning season Man U have not had brilliant records against their immediate challengers, its probably been a 50/50 win ratio but what they havent done, too often, is to come unstuck at the lesser lights and that has been Arsenal achilles heel and even this season that trend has continued although I recogniose they have improved overall. Get your mind on the 'little' games Moobs because, if I were an Arsenal fan, they are the ones that I would be worried about.

I think Blackpool on Tuesday night could be the night the unbeaten run is ended.

I think Blackpool on Tuesday night could be the night the unbeaten run is ended. There's no way United will lose to Blackpool. I think a draw would be heartening to City and especially Arsenal (as it would leave them only 3 points behind with equal games played) but in all probability it will be a Manchester United win.
