I can't understand people on Radox after the game saying Northampton were decent because I thought they were very average and were there for the taking and I was very disapointed that we did'nt win.

Cheers guys, much appreciated. 2 home games on the bounce now, against teams who will most likely be there or there abouts in the play-off hunt!

i think we gave them confidence by defending poorly,we did play some good football but panicked a bit and kept hitting the long ball which gave the ball away. thing is we have just won 4 on the trot so it will seem a bad loss,on to tuesday to put it right.

Oxford played some excellent fluent football and dominated the game for long periods with good passing and movement throughout the first half. Maybe we were guilty of overplaying at times but our play was easy on the eye. Batt was getting forward well but never convinced me when in possession in his own half with the ball at his feet.
Northampton scored a poor goal from our point of view. A free header at the near post from Holt and our habit of conceding goals from corner kicks was evident yet again. Better organisation is needed.
After equalising just two minutes after the restart with Craddock looking suspiciously offside, United never really got into their stride as N'pton worked harder to close us down and won too many second balls for my liking and we struggled to pass the ball for a twenty five minute period. What was clear was the amount of times Npton attacked down Batt's flank and he had a torrid second half and was frequently pressured. He allowed a left wing cross to come in from Holt ? where an unmarked Mckenzie buried a great header past Clarke.
We lost a bit of shape late on when we huffed an puffed but paid the penalty for switching off on a couple of occasions. However our football was good and there is no reason to panic but we have to tighten up at the back quickly and learn from these recurring mistakes if we are to challenge at the top end.

I thought Northampton were a solid unspectacular team with not much creativity. It was a similar game to Aldershot away when we just allowed them far too much of the game, without them having to earn it. Once we scored,i thought we were just happy to sit back and not take the game to Northampton.A point wouldve been the fair result, although 3 were there for the taking.

We played well enough, i thought we deserved something out of the game, but on the flip side if we keep on defending like we did today (the first goal we conceded today was an absolute shocker) we won't keep a clean sheet for the rest of the season, which concerns me a little.
I didn't think Northampton were anything special, our defeat today was of our own making with the poor defending. A pity, as our attacking play was decent.

I think they are always in on a Sunday when there is a midweek game.
CW sounded OK on the radio afterwards.
