Who do think should get the Olympic Stadium after the games? West Ham or Spurs?
West Ham will keep the running track and Athletics, Spurs will demolish it and lose the running track but they'll help develop Crystal Palace.
I'm currently siding with the Spurs plan

I also read a few months back Leyton Orient were going to put in a bid to refurb the stadium to a 10000 ALL SEATER - of all the cheek.

Neither spurs or west Ham fans want to move there apparently. Spurs would be better off moving to where all their fans come from - Hertfordshire. Maybe they can groundshare with stevenage. West Hams plan to leave the running track would be a disaster for them, I went up to Gateshead last season and its a crap way to watch football, you certainly wouldnt pay premier prices for it. Do Leyton Orient really want it? Wouldnt it be easier just to turn their current ground in to a 10000 all seater? After they relegated us I hope it all goes wrong whatever they do.

What i don't get is why both clubs bosses are so keen on the move. West Ham have a pretty decent ground, certainly adequate for their needs, especially when their support drops off after their relegation this term.
Last i heard spurs had a big plan to re develop WHL. Maybe the move will be cheaper but if the fans are against it is it worth p#ssing them off in order to move into a soulless bowl, and sh!t all over the olympic legacy into the bargain?

Spurs reckon there's a waiting list for season tickets and WHL is not in the most desirable part of London, it's also a bit of a bugger to get to

Its supposed to cost £200 million less to move than to redevelop WHL, so I suppose thats why they are so keen. The Olympic stadium is hardly in a nicer area than WHL although I was supprised to read its only 4.5 miles away from it, although its only 2.2 miles from upton park.
If Spurs did get it surely if west ham still wanted a new ground it would make sense to move further out in to Essex where the bulk of their support comes in from?

Spurs DO have permission to redevelop WHL. The best option for them, in my opinion. It may not be far in miles, but to move from north the east London would be a big mistake in terms of heritage.

I'd say 85% football grounds in this country are located in the scruffiest part of the town/city. I like to see football staying as close to its roots as possible and although the absurd salaries have immeasurably widened that gap lets keep stadiums bang smack in the hub of the immediate community.

Stratford is also a shithole. Ever been to the Stratford Rex? Don't, basically.

Stratford is also a shithole. Ever been to the Stratford Rex? Don't, basically. Yes but it won't be after a complete regeneration of the area, it will have excellent transport links as well. The point Baldy made about roots I don't quite agree with. When I went to West Ham, the surrounding area had quite a large asian community and the general state of the area was run down, the same can be said of Spurs, there is a large Jewish and asian community and it's not the most obvious place to find, most of their support come in from the home counties. Their support used to live on their doorsteps but not anymore
